At lunch they offer a buffet which I took advantage of, indulging in a little of everything given that this was my first foray into comida mineira. Now I understand why Brazilians so revere the food from this part of the country. At the conclusion of your meal, help yourself to a shot of cachaça from the barrel behind the desserts!

We dined on a holiday, so there were very few patrons. The buffet was good and most of the food was hot. You can also order grilled meats to your liking. The salad bar was quite varied and included a few soups. The main bar was extensive and I tried to sample a bit of everything. I loved the okra! Because of the holiday, they didn't have any cakes out, just a selection of puddings. Some were good, others were...interesting. There is also a kind of tequila with little plastic cups for shots. We had all had 2 each, a nice way to end the night. There was a cherry liqueur, but to me it was too much like cough syrup, so I didn't enjoy that. I had to caiprihanas, and while good, they were over $8 each and I wound up spending more on drinks than the meal! If I return, I'd not order the drinks. It's not the best buffet I've been to in Sao Paulo, but I was not disappointed in the food.

It's the…read moreclassic churrascaria experience -- similar to Fogo de Chão -- with a full buffet, salad bar, and endless cuts of meat brought to the table. Here's the thing: I don't eat steak, pork, or most of the meats they specialize in, and I'm not a big fan of buffet or all‑you‑can‑eat restaurants in general. We came here because a coworker invited us, and she was being really kind, so I didn't think to check the price beforehand. I ended up only eating the salad, and with dessert my total came to about $66. For someone who doesn't eat the main attraction, that price felt a bit high -- honestly, I felt a little ripped off, LOL. Not the restaurant's fault at all; this is exactly how churrascarias work. It just wasn't the best match for my eating habits. Next time, I'll politely turn down the invite or suggest a different spot that fits my preferences better. But if you do enjoy steakhouse-style dining and want the full Brazilian churrasco experience, Barbacoa delivers exactly what it promises.

I love several other Churrasacarias in São Paulo, but this one is a real standout. We had a group dinner with friends and coworkers, and we were led to a large table, and the staff fawned all over us. They were very accommodating and friendly. The food and wine were all top-notch, and they brought whatever cut of meat you asked for, instead of waiting for the "good stuff" like the Picanha. The salad bar was great as well, although I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have any Feijoada, which is usually a staple at any Churrascaria in Brazil. Again, there are several good Churrascarias here, but if you want the best, you won't get any better than Barbacoa!

It feels a bit classy and depending on what luxury cars you see in the front.... Do I start it here and say get the picanha? It's the rumpsteak. It melts in the mouth. That's all I'll say about the meat here haha. Came here for lunch and the price for the all you can eat was about $35-$40 USD. Yeah, you can bet my eyes were not looking at the prices. I was looking at the buffet setting area and I was surprised. If you do end up with the ayce option, you get to use the thing that lets the server know if you want more meat or not. The frequency and variety was pretty quick. (They had hump, short rib, bottom sirloin, rumpsteak, tenderloin, and sirloin). They also had some other items as well (a paella-type dish with long grain rice that was really really good, along with some skewered beef/lamb) If you are looking at the buffet, they have a variety of fresh fish. I opted for a lot of salmon haha. They have tuna and salmon ceviche, octopus as well. They have greens, salad, cheese, fruits here as well. Their signs are in both English and Porteguese, so no troubles here (although my eyes weren't focused on the signs). They have Coke Zero. I'm looking at you, America. also fancy alcohol here too, not that i know much about that though....

They have a nice buffet with so many options to choose from (appetizers). I was warned by my colleagues - I need to be prepared for the meat and should not eat too much. Waiters started to go around our table non-stop with HUGE meat pieces on skewers... Beef and lamb... Apart from meat we were served by grilled cheese, several types of buns and sauce. I liked mint sauce most. The interior is very chic and sharp. The service is just excellent! I will never forget this place... I left it in a food coma...
