I hosted a surprise 50th birthday dinner for my sister at the Perry Lane Hotel. I called a 3 days before the event, which for a procrastinator like myself was cutting it close, and I talked to Julie about the birthday dinner and I wanted floral table centerpieces. She instantly got the look and feel for what I wanted to have and we talked about the budget...and like magic...the day of the event...10 beautiful table centerpieces where in the dining room. My sister and our guest loved the flowers. The flowers elevated the dining room to the next level. The first time I met Julie was the one weekend I was in Savannah to plan my destination wedding there. I was only in Savannah for two days and trying to get everything packed into those two days was extremely challenging. Julie was so accommodating when we were late to our appointment and my Mom was getting phone call after phone call from other vendors during our appointment! Julie never lost patience and at one point even left us alone to discuss other vendors! She is so warm and welcoming and doesn't make you feel like you are doing business, but instead working on a fun project with a friend! I felt like I already knew her when I first met her! Julie immediately understood my vision for my wedding and began pulling up pictures for me that were exactly what I was picturing for my wedding! I met with two other florists on my trip and neither seemed to understand what I was looking for but Julie did. Julie also understood that I was on a budget, but she gave me so many options that it didn't seem to matter. I explained to her that I wanted a full aisle of rose petals for my ceremony. She immediately told me that this would be extremely costly, but she knew of a website called fiftyflowers where I could get them at a lower rate! She also let me ship the petals to her a day before the wedding so I didn't have to worry about the petals at all. I admire Julie so much for trying to help and accommodate her customers the way she does that she would even allow them to order flowers from somewhere else to save them money! Thanks to Julie, I got my full petal aisle and it was beautiful! In fact, it was the only ceremony decor I had. When I originally met with Julie, we laid out a complete floral plan for the entire wedding. By the time I met her the 2nd time, I had changed every item in our original plan. Julie didn't mind at all, and was happy to change it! Again, she immediately understood my new vision and my reception ended up not having any floral decor at all. Julie created the most amazing centerpieces for me that was a vase with gold branches extended from them, with votive candles and crystals hanging from the branches. They were exactly what I wanted! Planning a destination wedding can be difficult, but Julie kept in touch and was very prompt when answering any questions I had. I only visited Savannah twice through the year I planned my wedding, but twice was all Julie needed! Julie brought my visions to life. I couldn't have asked for a better florist. We were staying at the Olde Harbour Inn and my husband had surprised me with flowers delivered to our room from Garden on the Square for our one year wedding anniversary. They were the MOST BEAUTIFUL flowers I have ever seen in my life!! They were absolutely breath taking! Roses, stargazer lilies, the works! They did not skimp on any details. I couldn't believe they withheld a 11 hour trip to Pennsylvania and still looked remarkable several days later! Ordered flowers on Friday 9.30.16. Asked for a $50 table arrangement with white or green hydrangeas, purple and yellow flowers. I was so embarrassed when our friend got her flowers on 10.3.16. When we called back to ask why there was such a difference in the colors and vase size. The owner said that she would go get the flowers back from the person and give her a new arrangement tomorrow. I recently had an elopement package at a B & B in Savannah, who contracts with Garden on the Square for the bridal bouquet and boutonniere. I needed additional flowers for my wedding luncheon, so i gave them a call. When i told the boy who answered the phone that I wanted to place an order, he told me that they "weren't accepting anymore orders" that day. Then, i told him the flowers weren't needed for that day, but for a reception, which was being held on a Sunday. He then stated that they weren't open on Sundays.... I then asked to speak with a manager, a woman who did not identify herself then got on the phone and proceeded to tell me that they did not have any orders from my B & B on file for the date of my wedding. Then she said, "So what kind of flowers is it that you want???" I then asked her name (its Betty) and told her that i would be taking my business elsewhere, which is exactly what i did.... And as to the bouquet and boutonniere they provided for the ceremony, to say that they were "simple" and "plain" would be the understatement of the year ..... Two thumbs DOWN for Garden on the Square. I called my B and B after the incident, who then contacted Garden on the Square. Garden on the Square NEVER attempted to contact me to rectify the situation, but now they are "disputing" my post on WeddingWire. LOL. read more

On the advice of the on-duty customer service representative from the Eliza Thompson House, where my husband and I were staying, we went to Garden on the Square to purchase a bouquet of cut flowers for my brother and his wife who were traveling with us and celebrating their anniversary. Upon entering the shop, the owner and an employee were polishing an antique table on the display floor and discussing in detail its origins. My husband and I patiently waited until they had finished their discussion and polishing task. Finally, the owner asked how she could help. I told her of our request and that ETH had recommended her shop (ETH gets its flowers from here, which explains the recommendation). Her reply: she was TOO BUSY to not only deliver a bouquet to ETH, but also too busy to make one as there were none available for carry-out! All turned out well, however. Michelle, at Madame Chrysanthemum, 101 W. Taylor St., created a stunning arrangement for us even though, she too, was busy. read more

I planned a romantic trip to savannah for our one year anniversary. We stayed and the Kehoe house and Garden on the square was the recommended florist. Sight unseen I ordered flowers for my wife to be delivered our room. They were hands down the most amazing display my wife had ever seen. We spent almost 3 times as much for our wedding flowers and they were not half as fresh and wonderful smelling. They did a wonderful job of incorporating our wedding flowers even though they were not in season. They stayed fresh for almost 2 weeks with proper care! I even gave them the wrong date on the phone. This was quickly corrected the needed date and delivered despite my mistake. What great customer service. It was an amazing florist experience. I feel fully confident they would be able to provide an amazing arrangement for any out-of-towners who feel they need to order flowers over the phone. read more

She listened to every word I said and for the things I couldn't describe, it was like she read my mind. I have never seen more beautiful bouquets and centerpieces. The flowers and decor Julie worked on was my absolute favorite part of our day and I am SO glad I hired her. She even made a HUGE chandelier out of the gold branches I loved so much from her shop just for us! She really goes way above and beyond what you even hope for. Garden on the Square surpassed my expectations!! I knew flowers were important to me and I knew I wanted to spend a little more money in this area. Not only did Julie, the owner, understand my visions, but she executed it flawlessly. At first, I felt guilty spending so much on flowers, but Garden on the Square was worth every penny. In addition to the gorgeous flowers, votives and decor they provided, the team came early and stayed late. Our wedding ended at 11 pm and Julie and her team were still there breaking down till 3 am. I think it also speaks to the quality of the company when the owner is there from start to finish personally handling the job. Garden on the Square even put together a mock up of my flowers together when I visited with them at their shop about a month before the wedding. They had saved a few flowers from different jobs so that I could see a mock up of my perfect flowers. I think that was above and beyond what most vendors would ever do for a client. Everything was A++ service and I can't even put into words how wonderful of a company this is to work with!!
