Doctors are great. The office handling and communication is incredibly disappointing.

Horrible. Very disorganized. Every time I go it's a different story than the last time. No one seems to communicate with each other.

(Speaking from experience with the Port Jeff. location):…read moreWhen I had to have a procedure done, not only was my doctor super friendly and reassuring, but her nurse was amazing. The nurse checked-in with me multiple times, and I felt extremely comfortable right off the bat. She was also willing to answer questions without making me feel rushed - which can be difficult to do in such a busy office! Staff is so considerate and really takes the time to explain exactly what to expect for each procedure. They are very clear and informative, while also being personal and caring. Since I have had contact with two nurses, my doctor, a nurse practitioner, an ultrasound tech and the front desk/administrative staff, I feel I have interacted with enough staff to promise you, you are in great hands here! Even over the phone, I never feel rushed - they are willing to do whatever it takes to not only put you at ease and answer questions, but to do whatever is necessary for your health. The environment is extremely clean and I have never waited more than about 10 minutes. The only reason I did not rate a full 5 stars is because it is difficult to get an appointment and, in my experience, was once told the schedule wasn't "out yet" for the next month. The schedule, once "out," seems to fill very quickly (but I hear this is the case with most OBGYNs anyway). I also asked for a copy of test results, specifically not to be mailed and I would instead pick it up, but it was mailed anyway, although they agreed to call me for pick-up. They do not hand you your results/information requested right away and I had to wait for my request to be processed which was a little frustrating as someone who likes to keep on top of all my own medical documents. These are small complaints in comparison to the excellent level of care - 100% recommend them to anyone!

My wife was diagnosed with Stage 1, Grade 3, triple-positive breast cancer, and we have been…read morereceiving treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering for the past several months. We initially chose MSK because the cold cap treatment was covered by our insurance, and we expected the high level of care and coordination that a world-renowned cancer center is known for. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing. The biggest issue is that the facility appears to be severely understaffed. It is not uncommon to arrive early for an appointment and then wait anywhere from two to four hours before being seen. Communication between the nursing staff, clerical staff, physicians, and schedulers has been poor, creating confusion and unnecessary stress for patients and their families. We travel from Manorville for these appointments, and the lack of organization has made an already difficult situation even harder. My wife has completed chemotherapy and now only receives Herceptin injections, yet we continue to experience excessive delays. On one occasion, we received a text message informing us that the office was running three hours behind schedule. My wife is a nurse and repeatedly had to advocate for her own care. Before one of her surgeries, she had to request basic preoperative lab work herself. Patients should not have to push for what they believe are standard evaluations, especially at a world-class cancer center. Several incidents seriously undermined our confidence in the quality of care being provided. My wife experienced symptoms concerning for a pulmonary embolism, yet it took approximately 36 hours to fully evaluate and rule it out. We were also left seeking outside diagnostic testing to evaluate potential heart-related complications rather than having those concerns proactively addressed. Following her port placement, retained stitches were left behind and had to be removed. During cold cap treatments, obtaining pain medication became a frustrating struggle rather than a routine discussion about patient comfort. One of the most concerning experiences involved my wife's laboratory results. She noticed significant changes in her lab values and expressed concern to the nursing staff. Those concerns were dismissed. Two days later, she was nearly septic from an infection that required medical attention. While not every complication can be prevented, concerns from actively treated cancer patients should never be casually dismissed. Communication regarding pathology, biopsy results, and treatment updates was equally disappointing. We were often left reviewing reports through the patient portal without a call or explanation from a provider. No patient should have to interpret complex medical findings on their own while undergoing cancer treatment. The only consistently positive part of our experience was the PCTs and nursing assistants. They appeared overworked and understaffed, yet they were often the kindest and most compassionate people we encountered. Unfortunately, our experience with many infusion nurses was very different. Nurses frequently entered the room, hung medications, and left without introducing themselves or explaining what medications were being administered or why. Patients deserve to understand the treatments they are receiving. We also became frustrated with what felt like a rigid, protocol-driven approach to treatment. Decisions appeared to be based almost exclusively on a single clinical trial, while other studies and treatment discussions raised by my wife were routinely dismissed. We expected a more personalized approach that considered her specific history, symptoms, treatment response, and concerns. To make matters worse, we were incorrectly billed approximately $12,000 due to an administrative error. While the issue was eventually corrected, it created significant and unnecessary stress during an already overwhelming time. What was most upsetting was the attitude of some of the staff. The nurse manager was extremely rude, and the charge nurse came across as cold, dismissive, and unapproachable. When patients are battling cancer, compassion and communication matter just as much as medical treatment. MSK may have an outstanding reputation, but our experience was marked by poor communication, excessive wait times, lack of coordination, billing errors, dismissive attitudes, and a disappointing lack of individualized care. Cancer patients and their families are already carrying an enormous burden. They deserve timely care, proactive communication, and confidence that their concerns are being taken seriously. Based on our experience, I wish I could give this place zero stars.

She never gave up on me even though it was a rough road and she always changed treatment protocol til we found the right one. I also love the nursing staff, especially Fran, and both nurse practitioners. Complaints are that the finance department is next to impossible to get in touch with, and when you are first starting they have a tendency to cancel appointments. We were delayed getting started because they canceled my husband's sperm analysis twice. They also just raised their prices which I think is pretty disturbing since it was already expensive enough. Thanks to Dr Safier talking to finance I was able to get 30% off one of my cycles but they were rude about it and just said "we won't be doing this again." 5 stars for the medical team but one star off for finance

First let me start with Dr. Trivax who is absolutely AMAZING! Unlike my previous doctor, as soon as outcomes were not as expected he left no stone unturned and did additional testing to identify an underlying issue that was the KEY to exactally why I have struggled so long with secondary infertility. I can't say enough great things about him. However the FINANCE DEPARTMENT is BEYOND HORRIBLE!! It's such a SHAME such great doctor staff are supported by such a poor performing finance department. I don't know how anyone there still has a job. My initial retrevial I almost missed starting my meds because it took almost week to get in contact with someone and get the issues resolved. It's close to impossible to get someone on the phone unless you raise all h*ll and call the office non stop leaving messages with every other department. Kudos to the nursing staff whose other main job is trying to get finance to call back patients. Additionally, after I did all my due diligence they are trying to tell me I have significant fees due AFTER I had the procedure done. Which they are now willing to "see what they can do and discuss with doctor" because ya, they dropped the ball informing me of these fees prior to procedure (mind you they even have a call with you prior to go over all fees you will be responsible for). And again, after I did my due diligence to ensure what my expected out of pocket would be for back to back retrievals they call me MID CYCLE to inform me oops that I owe fees and want to make me aware before I start my cycle.. but they are notifying me day 4 which is no where near before the start of a cycle. If you are between facilities, I strongly urge you to do your homework and due diligence as you will have nothing but headaches with the finance department which unfortunately is part of your journey. Thanks for taking the time to read and best of luck on your journey!
