Tom came promptly the next day, and when I pushed the button, the door opened! Tom very graciously refused any type of payment for his time, in contrast to other businesses that charged a fee just to come out, and he also gave me pointers on how to avoid this problem in the future. Had a broken torsion spring. Called him up, he asked a few questions, gave an estimate, made appointment. The appointment was three business days from the time I called him. He showed up on-time. Fixed the spring and did a tune-up. Friendly but efficient Stuck to the estimate and didn't try to upsell me on anything. Had to replace spool cables and included that in the charge. I paid $275 (I don't have any idea if that's the going rate but it seemed reasonable to me). I recommend this company based on this experience. read more

We own a rental in Fort Collins and manage it remotely. When our tenant said the garage door opener was tripping the breaker, it sounded like time for a new garage door opener. We bought one online from Home Depot and contracted to have it installed. OH MY WORD. I am truly blown away with Tom! My husband is out of the country, so the house has cue'd itself to start the massive meltdown! The appliances have an evil pact against me! That is a story for another day.... Our main, large garage door is making sounds that are very loud & not natural! I call my husband in Istanbul & he tells me to find a coupon & call someone to come BEFORE it is totally dead & gone. WHAT?! He NEVER does that! I. AM. ON. IT. I open my coupon closet - the one that is bursting at the hinges with all the coupons that come in the mail & then, breed in the dead of night & expire the night before you need them? - you totally have one, don't roll your eyes at my drama.... I call 1 Clear Choice from their coupon & talk to Maeve - SUPER nice lady, reasonable prices & no trip charge. I am tempted to go with her just because she is SO DANG NICE! But, I argue my common sense into continuing to shop around. So, I call Tri City Garage Door off their coupon - $49 trip charge JUST to get them out? OUCH! Then... they will look at my door.... ? well, I could barely understand this dude on his crappy phone! So... how about YOU figure out your PHONE & I'll leave my garage door to someone else! Contestant #2 - You may sit down. So, I head to Yelp & find the rave reviews on Garage Gadgetry - but, NO coupons.... always a big bummer.... but, again: great reviews. REVIEWS ARE WORTH ALOT TO ME! So, I call with the other companies quotes in front of me..... I talk to Tom & he tells me: NO trip charge - he' s now neck in neck with SUPER nice Maeve. His "tune up" price is higher than Maeve's... Tom loses a couple points. Common sense knocks at the door to remind me: GREAT Yelp reviews for Tom - Maeve's company has ZERO. So, I schedule with Tom. We are scheduled for tomorrow. A couple hours later.... my phone rings - Tom asks if he could come past THIS AFTERNOON, instead? REALLY? OF COURSE! He was not only ON TIME. But, after spending about 20-30 minutes hanging out in my lovely garage of garages - he inspected BOTH of my garage doors, lubed ALL the hinges, lubed ALL the rollers, inspected the doors, all the moving parts, pieces & thingey-majigs-for-who-knows-what-they-are & called me out to explain EVERYTHING in detail to me! My garage door DEFINITELY sounds BETTER. QUIETER! I am thinking he replaced all the rollers & all.... then, he tells me about what everything does. About all the cheap pieces on mine. WAIT! WAIT for it!!! (I am thinking....) He will hit you up for replacing all the thingey-majigs-for-who-knows-what-they-are's.... that are cheap with his nicey-nices that are expensive!!! Brace yourself!!! It will be expensive & ugly!..... and as Tom gets done .... HE DOESN'T! SAY WHAT??! So, I ask HIM, "Should I replace all the rollers?" He replies, "Nope. You don't need to - lots of life left in them. It would be a waste of money." WHAT?! I am feeling like I am going to have to BEG him to run up my bill! For the LOVE OF PUPPIES! CHARGE ME FOR THINGS I DON'T NEED! So, I ask him: "Who should I make the check out to & what do I owe you?" Expecting the tune-up charge (most likely x2 since he also touched the 2nd garage door..... His reply: "No one & ZERO. We don't charge for small stuff. I put a sticker with our info by your controls: When you have a problem & something goes wrong - just call us to come back out. Have a great day!" UNBELIEVABLE. You had better believe I will be calling them again! THEY DESERVE THEIR EXCELLENT RATINGS! There is a reason they don't need to send out coupons - WORD OF MOUTH IS KING. Move over Super Nice Maeve... make room for Tom - This man deserves a crown of excellence & a raise. read more

Not only was he on time, but a little early and actually called my cell phone because I had a note on the door that said "please don't ring door bell, baby sleeping"!!! I was extremely impressed with Garage Gadgetry after my experience with Raynor. Garage Gadgetry called back within the hour (Raynor would take a day, each time I called). Plus they suggested how to fix my broken door instead of replace the whole thing. Door repair and new opener was $400 with Garage Gadgetry and I was quoted $1000 with Raynor. Our garage door wouldn't open on Sunday due to a broken spring. I called Garage Gadgetry and he said he would be there the next morning and gave me a quote based on our conversation. He showed up right on time, said he would have it fixed in 45 minutes but was finished in about 30 minutes. I worked with 2 other companies before I called garage gadgetry both other companies Raynor garage door and Rocky Mountain garage door made it very difficult to get a scheduled time to get a new door installed and both were over 2 weeks out. I contacted Garage Gadgetry August 21, 2017 to have another opener installed in my three-bay garage. When I spoke with the manager/owner he informed me that they did not provide service to Berthoud. I mentioned that I found their business sticker next to the remote in my garage for the other opener, which implied at some point in the past they had installed the opener in my home. The manager/owner stated that they would therefore make an exception to their rule and provide service. We set up an appointment for August 29 at 9:30. Eight days later at precisely 9:30, Garage Gadgetry technician, Tom, showed up at my door to install the opener. Tom was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We had a problem with a garage door not closing and called Garage Gadgetry. I highly recommend them! Super friendly, it was easy to get an appt, and they were really flexible when I had to do a last-minute reschedule of the appt. It turned out to be a super easy fix but Tom still spent a lot of time going over the condition of both garage doors and explaining everything to me. Ended up not even charging me for the visit since it was such a small thing, which I was completely stunned by. But he said that they'd rather build the goodwill by not charging for such a small thing so that when we need help with a bigger thing, it will be them that we call. Excellent company and very trustworthy. I am not going to be calling anyone else and will definitely recommend them (Tom) to all our friends. Had an appointment with Tom to convert my extension springs to torsion springs as opener was giving me trouble closing the door. I thought the springs are going bad and the door is out of balance. Tom came and looked around and found a loose connection on the wires at the safety switches that were preventing it from closing. He rewired both the safety devices and things were working fine. Said no need to do the conversion as the springs were fine. He lubricated everything and even looked at my other door and lubricated things on it as well. I asked him how much do I owe him since he had to make a trip and spend time. Guess what he said - just call me when you have real trouble. Now in this day and age who does that.
