Good install quality, classy look, friendly installers, and the motors are super quiet. I've been getting compliments for weeks now from neighbors I've never even met. A nice surprise was the quality of the technology in the package. My new belt driven motors came with bluetooth, App technology and best of all cameras that automatically keep an eye on the comings and goings in my garage. Called and requested a quote to install 2 side mount garage doors openers. Was given a rough quote of $750ea. When the written quote came through it was now $1790. We inquired what the additional $290 was for they played dumb and acted like they didn't formally quote us at all. They re-sent the quote but it was now for $2390! They tried to claim this was the only quote they gave us until we showed them a screen shot of the quote for $1790. When called out for this their explanation was that the initial quote was discounted on the assumption that we were getting doors installed too. I asked why the doors weren't on that same quote to justify the imaginary discount and she had no explanation. I went on to inquire about a breakdown of the quote, noting that retail for the parts was $1050, implying labor for a couple hour job would be $1340. She said "we have no breakdown it's all one price." Wouldn't verify hourly rates or time estimates. Very argumentative and aggressive. Needless to say we decided not to proceed. read more

My first call was when our gate stopped working during the rains one night. We called Garage doors and Gates 4 less, and they were nice enough to come the same night. The person who came didn't know much about gate, and only helped me to manually close it. He charged $95. Few days later, I made another appointment to come fix the gate. A technician named River came, and gave me two options. One to change the entire system and that it will cost around $3200 and second to change the control board for $1000. So I asked him to change the control board. He wanted half the payment upfront, so I gave $500 check. Couple days later, he came back with the control board and it didn't work. He said that the board might be faulty, and that he would order another one. He ordered another one couple days later, and that didn't work either. He pretty much told us that there is nothing much he can do, and that he will mail back the check (the check was already debited from our account). More than 3 weeks passes by and we don't receive a check. I call them, and they did not process anything. This is where you would think they would have a professional courtesy to mail the check back. After couple phone calls, they are now mailing a check for $215. They kept $380 for not fixing anything. Until I heard about how much money they are going to hold back, I was still going to ask them to change the entire System. But now I will have to go with someone else. Hopefully this review will help them to be more professional on handling customers. Especially charging them hundreds of dollars for not fixing anything. read more

The garage door looks great. Larry and Oscar did a great job assembling and were very professional. Only issue was that the door ended up taking 8 months to be delivered. Covid was going on, which is why they would say it would take 6 months. However, it ended up being an additional 2 month wait because some part was missing. Once it was delivered it was installed the same day and has been working great. However, the glass windows that came with it were cracked. I had to wait an additional 2-3 months for the new glass to be delivered. Once it was, they were installed perfectly by Larry and Oscar. All in all, Im happy with how it turned out and Larry and Oscar were great. read more

While we originally though of getting a standard color Clopay double-wide for a garage re-build (bad wood), when our technician came out with all the samples and types, we found we could upgrade to a much better color match for a minor cost increase, and demonstrated the difference between trying to re-paint a door yourself versus when the factory bakes on the finish. And in examining our project, he also recommended a better insulation model since we were going to all the trouble to re-build all the walls and add windows. This wasn't anything like an up-sell, or pushy sales; it was genuinely interesting to learn what all these different options and models can do, and fit everything within our modest budget. We ordered a 2-ply custom color and they were ready for install in just 3 weeks from the visit. What made GD4L really shine is that they helped support our ever-creeping final inspection date because we were renovating a 100-year old garage that needed lots of infrastructure-related changes to meet current code. Even though we ended up changing delivery and install 3 times with them, they made the changes effortlessly and kept our custom order safely warehoused through the holiday season, and even now with all the rains. Since we intend to add electrical later on, we went instead with a manual-operated door (with the usual T-lock sans opener motor,) but GD4L did such a great job balancing the weight of this probably 400+ lb. door, it opens and closes with a simple nudge both directions. Amazing work! After calling around to the heavily advertised places on TV, who seemed more interested in lead-generation than actually making sales (you can tell by some of their websites, they don't even allow you to describe your project - they just want your contact info,) it's really refreshing to find a local business that does everything the TV-famous places do, and goes the extra mile to make everything perfect - regardless of how imperfectly our project plans went. This was a two-step process. I signed up for the special price through Angie's List. That triggered a phone call from Maria, who professionally scheduled a visit by Darren to evaluate my garage door needs, measure, etc. I decided to upgrade to a better door, opener, hardware, etc. It took about three weeks to make the door to order. I received an E-mail from Maria about a week prior to installation, so I knew that the door install was about a week away (a nice heads-up!). I was looking to replace my garage door and opener and so got a few quotes on the Clopay door I wanted. These guys gave me the best quote on exactly what I wanted and were very responsive. The order process was very smooth - they sent me an invoice online. Once I paid the deposit, I was given an ETA of when my door would arrive, and then about 2 weeks before the due date, they called me to let me know my door would be coming early and schedule installation. FAIL: they sent out technician to fix a Marantec opener that was malfunctioning. Reported back "Technician found that the garage door opener needs to be replaced". They suggested a new chain drive Liftmaster be installed for $785.00 which is a downgrade from the current quality German made Marantec super quiet belt driven opener. Since the opener was not that old, I called the company that originally installed it and they repaired it with new wiring and sensors (I had suspected the sensors were the problem to begin with) in about an hour and a half. They will then try to harass you by making up new rules of the game by saying that you must accept what they just defecated and wait to see if it can be modified to fall with the contractual guidelines. Then a nasty lady at the office will lie and tell you that you must review the contract because the product was produced according to contractual dictates. Of course, they will not reimburse you because they will insist that THEIR big mistake is the fault of the customer. But, the credit card issuer immediately saw through their blatant lies by just reading the contract and verifying the defectively produced doors which were just shoved through their back door and brought to my home for their Spanish speaking installers to install and play dumb with me. They made no effort to show that quality control was a part of their operation. And, of course, they demonstrated a very tangentially casual relation with the truth. They came at the agreed to day and time, two superb technicians who effortlessly removed my original 600 lb. wooden door, and seemingly minutes later hung a gorgeous metal one in it's place. They sent the estimate out to me right away for weather seal moldings and rubber bottom seal with metal retainers for my three garage doors. The company followed up to make sure I received it. Kevin and Meher always called to confirm appointments and update me on arrival times of the technicians the day of service. Due to some onsite delays at other jobs, there were some appointment time changes, but they always worked with me. I understand that sometimes these appointments don't always go as planned so I tried to be flexible with them and it was well worth it. Eddie and River installed weather stripping and moldings around the garage doors. During this installation, Eddie brought to my attention that the hinge on the large door was broken and needed to be replaced. He suggested that I have the door serviced and there would be an additional charge for that. I agreed as he pointed out the problems with the door as I had never had it serviced in the past. Well, what a difference that made! It glided with ease, and the loud annoying squeaking was gone. The only thing I would suggest is that they sweep up the area when the job is completed.
