It was a few months though before he was free to work at my house, which I had bought recently. He is very experienced in a wide range of skills: he did woodwork, cabinetry, drywall, tile, plumbing, flooring, painting, brick work, and remodeling at my house. I liked that he spoke up when he saw something I didn't know about, like evidence of water damage from a leak. Reasonably priced, very pleasant, a good communicator, careful, respectful, and honest. A good family man, so I always felt comfortable around him. The best handyman I've ever had work on my home anywhere.

We went with this company because of the good reviews and we were told Craig stood behind his work. I am very disappointed that they do not return our phone calls. I would give 5+ stars on the roof, but the other work and the customer service I would give maybe 2.

Calvin & Son Roofing deserves a TWENTY stars rating, but we didn't have that option. Bud Ullrich,…read morethe owner, stands head and shoulders above his competitors in the area, some of whom have 5-star ratings. We reviewed about a dozen local roofing companies (their websites, Yelp profiles/ratings/reviews/complaints, and more), narrowed down to 3 for an estimate, and selected Calvin & Son. Part of that decision was because the other 2 roofers did not impress us when we met them. Bud showed clear knowledge of dealing with our type of house. It was a big job, involving some tasks that were not part of a straight replacement. None of that caused him to hesitate. Also, Bud gave us an estimate on the spot. One of the others took 2 days, and the 3rd roofer never supplied an estimate. As for Bud, his crew showed up on time, and he was there to be sure things got started right. He also came back several times during the job to check on things, including at the end to check over the work, fixing little things here and there. A few minor glitches were handled very professionally and quickly, and at the end of the job Bud made sure we were satisfied. We are confident that the new roof will withstand whatever the weather can throw at it.
