Fast forward to present time and I made a decision (after parking at another garage) to park in this one again. Wow, what a big difference it was to the other garage - not tight, less busy and a little cheaper (even if by just 25 cents less). There are not too many of the restaurants and stores by this garage, which makes it less busy than others, like Cordell - St. Elmo garage. This too has 2 entrances as well - one on Del Ray Ave and the other on Auburn Ave. This cost here is $1 per hour vs $1.25 for the Cordell/St.Elmo garage and it could be because cars are not frequently coming in and out during their busy times. Overall, it is just better at times to park in the garage that has less congestion with more space to travel between each floor. I haven't been up to the top floor in this one yet, but I'll check it out soon and update this review.

It is the most convenient to the hoity-toity shops in Bethesda and Bethesda Lane. This is where I park when I crave pastries from Maman or Fresh Baguette. So, I am at the county's mercy. Usually, it's just an hour. It can be crazy busy, so pack your patience, and be kind to the man that sits outside the entrance off Bethesda Ave. Remember parking is free on Sundays. The current cost is $1.50/hr and it's Pay by Plate. The one thing I don't like about all Montgomery County lots is that it's pay by the hour. There are no half hour increments. I miss the days of coin meters! The garage is clean, and well lit. I feel safe coming and going on my own as long as I can park near a door or elevator. This was the closest garage to a Yelp event I attended, and when I return to the restaurant, I will definitely park in the garage again since it's cheaper than street parking rates.

I love this parking garage…read more Large, easy to get in and out of. And I'm also a huge fan of parking garages that have ticket entry. When have you ever gotten a parking ticket in a ticket entry garage? The answer is never. I like to leave my car somewhere and not worry about how much time I'm spending at a business. Parking garages that have meters in them... thats no guarantee. The prices are reasonable in this garage and it's steps away from Woodmont Triangle and could be a nice brisk walk into the heart of Bethesda Row. There is usually someone in the office there- which is not he size of a coffin. I feel so bad for those workers in a garage that have that small booth that is just big enough to fit a human being... without their knees usually. I've been in this garage a few times, and have always found a spot on the first floor. It is clearly underutilized, at least the times I'm going. Great garage, no problems with this garage.

It seemed like the first 3 floors are now set with a max of 3 hours and the time to park free is a bit more limited than before. Times have changed, I guess. After parking, I went to pay at one of the stand-alone machines. I entered my ticket, and, in a few seconds, the machine gave me back my ticket. Nothing on the screen changed. I tried again, same thing. So, I guess there was no charge for me to park. I got ready to exit through the gates and the thing prompted me to pay, so I guess the stand-alone machine wasn't working then. I wished they had put something on that stand-alone machine to state it wasn't working. I'll know for the next time to make sure some sort of amount is shown when validating my ticket (lesson learned). Note: When exiting by the gate, it doesn't take cash, and you may not always get a receipt. This garage is the one that is on the Dawson's Market side of Rockville Town Center…read more There is an open air parking lot component that is right in front of Dawson's Market's front door: The way you pay here has changed 30 different times. So you're gonna have to check cause it changes nearly every other week. *First they had a machine where you would enter the number spot and you would pay for how much time you'd like. *Then they had meters where you would just pay with money. *Then they had meters where you would press a button and get 2 free hours, and if you didn't get back before those 2 hours expired, you'd get a ticket. But I'm assuming people were just going back and continually pressing the button. *Then they took the meters out. *Then they put the meters back in. *Then COME ON people... just choose a parking payment method. There's a ramp that goes up to resident parking, but there is also a ramp down where you can park underground. The underground lot is like 50 percent spots that say "Dawsons Market" on them. Which is funny cause, they are never full, much like Dawson's market. I like to go down to there, because the underground has been consistent since day 1 on how you pay. When you enter the underground lot, you get a ticket at a gate. That ticket can be scanned by pretty much the entire shopping center and you get 2 free hours. Past that, you pay at a payment station with the ticket. Not a lot of people park on this side of the Town Center. People usually park in garages A or B over near American Tap Room, which used to be Austin Grill, which used to be... I can't remember at this point... some Mexican place? It would be nice if the parking methods didn't flip as much as the restaurants in the town center. The person who runs both must be as incredibly indecisive as I am ;).

Overall, I think this public parking garage is a great go-to in the downtown Silver Spring area…read more The garage has ample parking spots and is rarely full (at least during my visits). Also, the parking spots are wide enough to accomodate midsize cars. Lately, I've noticed that the parking spots in many garages are super narrow in that it's tough for even standard sedans to park. I think the hourly the parking fees are pretty low - relative to other garages that I've used in the area. For my most recent use, the Park Mobile app charged me $1.73 for 77 minutes of parking on a weekday - note that $0.45 of that $1.73 was a transaction fee. Finally, one thing that I really like about this garage is that it has separate entrances and exits. It frustrates me so much when parking garages have two-way traffic, which IMO causes more congestion in an already tight space. I think it's more efficient to have one-way traffic in parking garages.
