My wife gave me a pullover from Gap for Christmas. £39.50. I wore it twice and it fell apart at the arms. Took it back. The assistant said he'd refund the money. Great. But only if I had the credit card of the person who bought it. So I had to go home and get my wife's card. Went back to the store, where a different assistant put the card into the machine, which then asked for the PIN number - which of course I didn't know. The manager said I had to go home again and this time bring my wife. Couldn't I just phone her and ask for the PIN number. No. Manager became rude saying I should have known that my wife would have to come in herself "It's just common sense". (If it's common sense, how come neither of her staff knew it?).
So, having sold me shoddy goods, they gave no apology for the substantial inconvenience, just unhelpful rudeness, and so far no refund. Obviously they have no pride in their goods or their customer service. read more
