This store wins the award for having the most Kipling bags that I have ever seen at a Winners. There were three sling bags in a floral pattern, and black and blue colours. Insane! I don't own a sling bag. There were also backpacks in various sizes, and a casual Kipling tote in taupe. My willpower kicked in and I eventually tore myself away from the bag section. The shoe section was impressive. I tried on a lilac pair of Skechers street sneakers. They threw me back to platform sneakers and felt so comfortable on my feet. I walked around in them and didn't want to take them off. Yes, I bought them. They look different. Yet, they feel so good. I paid using a credit card. The second time, the place was very busy, so I didn't stay as long. They have a good selection of items and a vast space, but a lot are pricy. The lure of the items being from Toronto lacks any appeal for me because that's where I live, but hey I guess it works for others because like I said, it was lively with vintage shoppers. I'm a gal who likes unique clothes and accessories, but I don't like to pay a lot of money. So it was no-brainer that during my vacation time in Prince Edward County, Ontario, I had to stop into Picton and check out the consignment store on Main Street, City Revival. Wow. The 50% rack on the outside was already welcoming. It had a cute charcoal jersey dress that I picked up right away to bring to the fitting room. After a few steps inside, I noticed a Prada bag, a Fendi clutch and what seemed like hundreds of gorgeous jewelry pieces - all that seemed to be, well, cheap! What a find! I came with three friends, (one of whom is male, and he bought the most, by the way!) , and we bought some awesome brand name pieces. My best find? A silk Coach scarf/neck tie that can be worn a few different ways. It cost $10.00, and by the way, today everything in the store was 20% off! (My total, including tax was $9.05) There's no way I could have found a deal like that in Toronto. This store, like all consignment, second-hand and vintage shops, needs a lot of time to peruse through the (probably) thousands of items that are on the dozens of racks, shelves and hooks all over the store. (But if you are a vintage shopper like I am, you already know this) They carry a variety of sizes and brands. A few luxury brands I noticed: Miu Miu, Prada, Fendi, Coach and Gucci. I also saw Michael Kors, Banana Republic, Lululemon and Michael Stars. It also had a pretty decent sized Men's department. There was certainly a lot of variety, but you'll need a good amount of time to find that needle in the haystack. As far as consignment shopping goes, it's a pretty good one. The ladies at the desk were super nice and it's mostly because of them that I will certainly come back.

The deals were fantastic! Once it closed down, I have ceased shopping at Eddie Bauer. Luckily, there are Eddie Bauer outlets in Vaughan Mills and Toronto Premium Outlets. I just haven't been as loyal a shopper as I used to be. I saw this store and decided to check out the merchandise. I liked a pair of cargo shorts and decided to try them on. They were on sale. They didn't fit great. Thank goodness for change rooms. I put them back and called it good. No staff member came over to say hi. It wasn't all that busy. Make an overnight of it and do a yarn crawl! If you live closer to them than I do, they offer a Knitting Club which meets up at the shop every Wednesday afternoon from 4 - 6 p.m. This is such a good idea; knitting is such a tactile "sport" that you can touch and feel the yarn to make your best choice, then sit and knit it for a bit to get a feel for it. Us knitters just want to sit down and dig into a project especially once we have chosen the yarn! It would be so nice to have all day every day to sit and knit and create wonderful items by hand - this makes me a little envious of yarn shop owners! Sitting in a shop to knit with other knitters is very inspiring - you learn a lot watching them, and often want to try their projects as well. Knitters are a very helpful group. The owner - Linda - is very friendly, so don't be afraid to talk to her. You'll need to plan to spend some time here, along with your money :-) I specifically like her shop for the wonderfully array of unusual yarns she supplies. I got a gorgeous beaded turquoise yarn from them, and can hardly wait to knit it up!

Books are categorized from various genres and are kept neatly and in alphabetical order by author's last names.
