I'm trying to break the habit of doing all my vinyl shopping online. It's too easy, and that makes…read moreit addictive. Disc Go Round has become a great alternative. I don't get out there as often as I should, but every time I do I end up finding some kind of treasure to bring home. I usually don't go in looking for anything specific. The fun is digging through what's there and seeing what catches my eye. I'm a sucker for anything that hits that nostalgic nerve and reminds me of when my dad and I used to explore music together. Now I get to do the same thing with my own son, which makes it even better. There's always a good mix of music to find here. Rock, classic stuff, random finds you didn't expect to see. The place is always clean, the prices are fair, and the gentleman behind the counter is always friendly. If you're into vinyl (or even CD's, cassette's, etc.), this is the kind of place that deserves support. Keep this place alive, Corpitos - Buy local.

For the most part, I was right, this was way over my head. Partially because I now live in North Carolina and I'd stick out on the sidewalk, partially because I guess I'm just not old enough to appreciate the style. But enter the rack of Mexican dresses (funny how I hated being made to wear them as a child but I adore them now). Beautiful, just beautiful, but pricey. They had them from many different regions but I've been favoring the heavily (all-over) embroidered dresses lately and after seeing the prices for one here ($270) I wanted to kick myself for not buying one at the beach at A Mano ($195). Same colors, extremely similar pattern, but I guess Pilar has higher rent to pay? The rest of the store carried flowy embroidered pieces, matching two piece sets, beautiful jewelry, Mexican trinkets, belts, shawls, accessories, and more. The women working were extremely nice, and of course I left with items in hand (minus the dress), but it probably won't be my first shop to return to when in town.
