Imagine a completely underwhelming flea market experience, with a large area of empty tables…read moreoccupied by a small handful of people selling their yard sale leftovers. This sums up my trip to the Vineland Flea Market. I came here on a Friday, approximately an hour after they opened, so it was not as if I was arriving while vendors were still setting up. The weather was fine, so that's no excuse for it being so desolate. There are many better flea markets in the area with a much better selection than what I saw. Frankly, a dollar store on its last day of a going-out-of-business sale has a better selection than what I saw here.

I have passed by here a million times on my way to the beach and never stopped by for some reason,…read morealthough the signs intrigued me...fresh pressed oj, Jersey tomatoes etc... I finally stopped by and was not only shocked by how massive the space was with a full greenhouse & nursery, but at how fresh the offerings were (ex white corn delivered daily), but also how sweet, friendly, and helpful the staff was. I was greeted so warmly right away and encouraged to walk far out back to see all that they had. It was so lovely! The staff also helped me carry my boxes of white pumpkins, zucchini, cucumbers, plump tomatoes, .80 corn and FREE bananas to my car. Yes, FREE! They were ripe so they were giving them away! Hello smoothie & chocolate chip banana bread!! Score! I was able to grab two bunches for myself and two for my friend. They had a really nice display of fall items just after Labor Day and everything was top quality! I've been into small markets a lot more lately and have been trying to make the change to solely supporting smaller businesses & farmers for my produce. Not only does everything stay fresher because it has traveled less time, it's all organic, and it just really makes you feel good. I highly recommend a stop here if you're staying on Strathmere, even OC or Sea Isle. I will be sure to stop by on my way home from Whale Beach every single time now. I was blown away by my first visit!
