They tried ripping me off of my Switch trade in. There was a couple scratches/scuffs on one of the controllers, and he deducted over $50 what was supposed to be $120 credit toward the purchase of the Switch 2. I took it to the Joliet location and they had no problems, gave me $150 credit because I was a rewards member and were very accommodating. Avoid the New Lenox location. read more

This location has arguably the most helpful staff around. More female employees is a great way to make young girls (like my kids) feel more accepted about being "gamer" girls/"nerds". They seem to have more plush collectibles in stock here, too. I've been able to snag several hard to find Pokemon and Mario All Stars here that I thought I'd have to chase on eBay. One of the worst customer services I have ever had and on three occasions it was actually with the store manager there. 1. occasion there was a coupon on the website that "wasn't suppose to be there" the manager was giving me a hard time about it saying it was a "glitch in the system"and if he gave me that deal it would come out of his paycheck...... After arguing for an hour he finally gave me the deal. 2. I bought a game online and did an in-store pick-up. My husband and I both went, however, I had just injured my back so I needed to stay in the car as my pain was getting worse as the day went on. My husband went in and came right back out asking for my ID even though he had my phone with the email, this manger still requested me to come in even though he literally had my ID and my phone with the email and it was clear he went out to the car to get the ID... Thankfully my husband argued and the manager threw a tantrum and let him go with the game. Most recent time, I went in with my mother who was buying a game for someone for Christmas, once again its the same store manager who walks up to us asking if we need help. I mentioned a few games we were looking for and my gosh did he act like he owned the place and that we were peasants... he was extremely unhelpful and even rude during check out. My mom was told she could get her points on a previous transaction and he looked at her like she was crazy and said "I don't know about that" when one of the HELPFUL employees at this location told her she could... We have had some nice and helpful employees help us at this location however the store manager is bad new!!! Stay away or go to a different location trust me. read more

I'm fairly new to the neighborhood so I'm new to this GameStop location. My old crappy Xbox 360 broke down on me so I came here and got a new, refurbished system. Hassle free experience. Then 2 weeks ago, after saving up I took the plunge and bought an Xbox One. Took advantage of a special they had and got a free game with purchase of a bundle. Traded in my 360 and a whole mess of games. Saved about $110 when it was all said and done. GameStop is awesome, we all know that. That's not why I'm leaving this review today. I only write reviews when I'm compelled to do so, either positive or negative. Today I was extremely happy with my GameStop experience so I wanted to share and show some appreciation. Almost 2 weeks ago to the day after purchase, my brand new Xbox one turned out to have a factory defect. About 1 in 400 consoles has this defect I was told. Go figure, I get the one that had it. When it broke I had flashbacks of when I had to utilize my factory warranty years ago for my 360. All kinds of hoops to jump through, about a month and a half waiting for them to repair it after shipping it off and most importantly, 6 weeks with no video games! We can't have that. So needless to say I was pretty upset about this. Made a call to GameStop and my mind was immediately at ease. Brought it in, and they exchanged it for me. No issues, no hassles. The entire staff here are awesome and very friendly. You can tell they all like being there. I'm not a rich man, so buying a new video game system is a big deal for me. After this experience I'll have no qualms about making my big purchases through GameStop, and especially this location. Very happy customer over here. Now I won't have to read a book or do anything productive on my upcoming 3 day weekend, thank god! Back to Fallout 4! read more

Recently, came here to pick up a couple titles for my nephew whom seem fond of First person shooters which happens to be his favorite game genre. Been coming here since it first open and service is pleasant and worth visiting if you are a gamer or stopping by. read more

Went into this store today with my 9 year old son and it reeked of alcohol. I guess there was a game launch the night before but that is no excuse. I have NEVER been so disappointed with a Gamestop store before. I didn't feel comfortable keeping my son in the store. I don't drink so my son doesn't have to deal with that crap so i certainly don't want to go shopping with him and have to explain it. read more
