I almost don't want to review this gym because I love it so much and don't want it to get too popular.. but it deserves to be! Fantastic classic old school lifting focused set up with clean, well kept and cooperatively maintained facilities with 24/7 access. Self selects for motivated members that are respectful, focused on their workout, and minimizes some of the negatives of modern gym culture through its focus and form. People are here to lift, rerack, and respect each other and the space. I took the barbell master class and continued with the open gym membership with coaching add on. This includes an app that has guided programs as well as access to coaches virtually and in person. The coaches are professional, great at teaching form and technique, and just solid dudes here to help you get better in the way you want to be better. Five stars all around. read more

I have been training at GTS for around 5 months now and I can honestly say this is the best gym I've ever been to. I love the coaches, I love the equipment, and most of all I love that I never have to wait to use the equipment. I initially only wanted to do the open gym membership, but after taking the 3-day coaching session I decided to move forward with the coaching sessions & open gym sessions and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. I have learned so much these past few months and feel much stronger! read more

GTS is a fantastic choice for anyone serious about strength training--whether you're just starting out or aiming to break through a plateau. I joined specifically to improve full-body lifts and target big muscle groups. A friend recommended I learn deadlifts with a professional, and that turned out to be great advice. I'd worked with personal trainers before but found the constant micromanaging--counting reps and hovering over every movement--pretty demotivating. GTS takes a different approach. Their coaching model offers access to knowledgeable staff who step in when you want feedback, without getting in the way. I mix coached sessions for guidance with open gym time that fits my schedule. After 18 months at GTS, I've consistently gotten stronger, improved my form on key lifts, and added lean muscle. The Artesia location is clean, well-equipped, and ideal for free weight training. (Other GTS locations I've visited have both free weights and more machines.) Pros: Skilled coaches, flexible training options, efficient and no-nonsense environment Cons: Not a "scene"--you won't be stuck waiting for equipment or surrounded by gym influencers. read more

GTS is the best kind of hidden gem!!!! I still have a membership at one of those giant gyms, but honestly... it's night and day. At GTS, it feels cozy, family-style, and the coaches somehow manage to give you that one-on-one attention without the scary personal-trainer price tag. The workouts are always tailored to your level, but they sneak in just enough challenge to keep you humble. Every session feels less like "ugh, I have to work out" and more like "oh wow, I get to!" -- which, if you ask me, is some kind of fitness magic.Try it ! You won't regret it! Disclaimer: highly addictive :) read more

The coaches at GTS are very knowledgeable and have corrected my form as well as helped me work through my injuries. They really care about each gym member, are encouraging and inspirational, and a lot of fun to work with. The community is incredible as well... The coaches and people at game time strength are so nice. As a new person, it almost feels like the first day of school as a new kid where your nervous and not sure how everyone's gonna be like. But on day one, even when just expressing interest, I was greeted very kindly by everyone. Got a walk through of the gym, wasn't pushed by the coaches to sign up and make a sale - they told me what options I had to sign up if I wanted to and never pressured me once. Now that I've been here for a few months, it's awesome to see how much I've progressed, how much better my form is, and coaching hours are very flexible so I can go before or after work, or on weekends too. They have enough equipment that you never have to wait around for something to open up and use! read more

I started going to GTS Redondo just after they opened in 2022. I opted for the intro barbell program where you work 1:1 with a trainer to go through each of the primary barbell lifts (bench, squat, deadlift, overhead) along with a multitude of other lifts. The coaches are very knowledgeable about technique and overall great to work with. GTS operates on a reservation system, so it's never too busy which is amazing. Would highly recommend to any gym goer looking to level up read more

Responsive and professional staff. Great equipment, no waiting around for machines like at any of the regular catch all gyms. If you're looking for a place to go at anytime in an environment that helps you really focus on your progress, this is it! Also multiple locations - this is the location I originally signed up to and most frequently go to but having the option to go to another location and get the same great experience is awesome. read more

Having done home workouts my whole life (pilates, bodyweight training, HIT), I was looking for a gym that can specifically teach me how to safely lift heavy with correct form paired with a tried-and-true program that can help me reach my fitness goals. Jumped on a call with Jason after finding GTS through yelp, and I chose to enroll in the 3 day bootcamp to get the basics down. Jason is incredibly kind, open-minded, and knowledgeable. As a female, I always found gyms intimidating, but GTS feels like a home gym. You can reserve a spot at almost any time of the day, go to any of the 3 gym locations, and you will be guaranteed a station to complete your workout in peace. If you want to get strong, I highly recommend Jason and his team as all of the coaches are SO wonderful. read more

I stopped by GTS yesterday for the first time and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. GTS looks like it has something to offer for clients of all fitness levels. Whether you're starting out and need help putting together a program, or just need a space to do some lifting, check out GTS. I don't have the space or the funds to build my own garage gym, and I'm also not looking for group classes, so GTS will meet my current fitness needs. read more

I came across GTS while looking for a more powerlifting specific gym compared to my usual commercial gym. I did the 3 day training camp which allowed for 1 on 1 training with various coaches including Jason, while previewing a couple of the GTS gym locations. Jason was a wealth of knowledge himself aside from the other couple of coaches I was introduced to during the camp. Lots of instruction on proper lifting technique and mobility, even finding faults of my technique and mobility. No just adding weight to the bar without learning proper technique first. Great coaching staff and being part of a great lifting community while having 24/7 access to an amazing gym and equipment. read more

Using this term in the BEST. POSSIBLE. WAY. The people at Game Time Strength are NICE. As in they really seem to care about their members well-being. They take the time to ensure you're doing everything correctly so you don't get injured. They cheer you on, tailor your workouts, and make you feel like anything is possible. They have a great, clean space that's never too crowded even during peak times (like after work) and plenty of free parking. They seem to attract nice members as well. Whether you're a competitive athlete or simply just want to get fit, this is definitely the nicest gym around. read more

Great place to learn. If your looking to get into barbell training or a seasoned veteran, you will grow and learn in a structured environment. My main gym is a different GTS location, but the Redondo Beach location is close to work and it's super useful to have an alternate gym to go to when life gets in the way and I can't make it to my primary gym. The equipment at the Redondo Beach location is fantastic. It's all brand new, it's great quality and it's the right equipment if you intend to become stronger (something I can't say for any commercial gym). It's also spacious enough so that you won't be competing with others to grab a squat rack. Overall this is a great gym and I recommend checking it out! read more

Really glad I joined GTS. Had an awesome workout with my friend Nate! Clean facility and had everything we needed for our shoulder workout.

I live in San Pedro and was looking for a small, private gym with all the right (and clean) equipment. I had a home gym, but since moving, I joined a larger gym...and no thanks. I don't want to catch COVID or anything else in these big box gyms. I couldn't find anything up to standard nearby me, so I expanded my search area and landed on Game Time Strength in Redondo Beach. Yes, I commute that distance, but let me tell you, it is so worth it! First, let's talk about the space. It's a well sized spot for a private, yet challenge-oriented fitness community. The equipment is new and clean. I know I can get a full body workout here. Secondly, let's talk about the staff. Everyone is awesome and knows their stuff. Jason is incredibly knowledgeable. He and his entire team are open, welcoming, friendly, and of course, knowledgable. Third, let's talk about culture. I just finished taking their 3 day bootcamp, which covers barbell fundamentals. Just taking this class alone sealed the deal for me even more. I have been lifting for over 10 years and I recommend this class to any and every person who lifts. Why? Because this team believes in quality over quantity. They also strive to ensure their athletes are healthy, which includes long term ability to lift. They make sure you know which muscles should be engaged in every kind of lift you do and fundamental mechanics that go into every movement. I feel confident in my ability to build myself from here, without the gym bro environment (lifting heavy but incorrectly). If you want to find a spot that supports your goals, lets you build yourself without pressure, and fosters a community of athletes (new or seasoned) that support one another, I recommend you go to GTS. I look forward to being a complete, happy, and satisfied athlete here. read more
