They also do plenty of new stock to compliment the second hand items, this is mainly chart DVDs and discontinued electrical goods. All electricals are graded on their condition with the price reflecting that, so you know of any minor scratches etc. before you've paid. Mobile phones are separated into network grouping with unlocked phones on their own; this shop was invaluable when my mobile phone was being repaired rendering the need for a cheap temporary phone on a network which tend to avoid that market. The games and films have crazy prices with Xbox360 games typically around £25 even for the most recent and popular titles. DVDs likewise, I managed to buy a brand new copy of The Simpsons Movie on DVD for £3 just three weeks after it was released. Well worth a visit when in the Arndale if you're thinking of popping into anywhere like HMV.

The shop can be quiet alot of the time, and some of the stock remains in the shop for months. The staff are friendly and personal and experts in the field of video games in general.

They seem to do a good trade in second-hand consoles and some of the rarer, collectible stuff and sell lots of Japanese imports. If the shop isn't too busy, they'll happily plug in a game for you to try, or just let you have a go on whatever they've been playing when they didn't have customers. The owner has been trading games in Cambridge for as long as I can remember, must be 15 or 20 years now. Customer service is very good, if you do buy a second-hand game which doesn't work properly, they refund or replace with no fuss at all.

Worst part though was the truly useless customer service when I contacted them to find out where the heck my stuff was. Confrontational, blame shifting and unable to even muster an apology or read my emails properly. I've spent €1,000s here in the past but they won't be getting a penny more from me. I know their discount is tempting but there are other retailers with similar discounts and WAY better attitudes.

And of course, that has direct repercussions on our household life. It means many hours walking by Games Workshop and Dark Sphere to pick up things for his army. It means many hours helping him paint tanks and aliens. It means bookshelves in our cramped apartment devoted to paints, men with little guns, and armored aliens. It means all of this to me. But of course so much more to my husband. With my husband's discovery of Dark Sphere, it means that he can now complete his army and get 25% off. Not only does that make him happy, that makes me happy too! Because that 25% in savings usually means treating me out to a nicely deserved weekly dinner for being a very tolerant wifey! (You can save 20% when dropping their shop, or 25% by ordering online, OR you can even order online and then pick up in their shop!) P.S. They're currently moving to a less crowded location! It is well laid out and i can usually find the right section i am looking for. I do feel this store is aimed at the youngsters because the music is always too heavy and too loud for me and i only venture in if i really have to. My teenage son and daughter love the shop though. It is situated in the friars square shopping centre next to Superdrug ( can get my headache tablets after being in HMV!!) and next to mad house clothing shop. With the closure of Woolies and record house its the only place now in the town to buy music (i think!).

Staff are extremely helpful and really know their stuff. I remember I was after some obscure film once but couldn't remember the name. I described some of the scenes I remembered to them and they suddenly found the DVD in stock and on sale. Great service.

They also buy any games you would like to sell (even though it isn't the greatest rate). If you are prepared to buy games instore, they will give you a higher rate.
