There was an issue with the order, and I received a personal text message very shortly afterward that one of the items in the gift basket was out of stock and that there was a substitution. The person who contacted me was extremely apologetic, offered a substitution, and refunded my order, even though I didn't really think that the substitution was a very big deal. Obviously customer service is very important to them. Sometimes these things happen, but it's always wonderful to see a business that goes above and beyond to make sure that its customers are happy and get what they pay for. Would definitely patronize (and pay full price) again.

Located in the West Acres Mall in Fargo, Minn Dak sports tons of local business efforts. As someone who grew up in North & South Dakota, I never even realized there were that many brands that come from our homeland, but it was so fun to see and definitely made me feel a sense of pride over how far we've come. You can get some pretty classic tacky tourist stuff, like "uffda", "doncha know", "ope", or other funny Minn- Dak sayings on magnets and stickers. There's lots of college gear from UND or NDSU to sport and decorate with. But the food products are by far the spotlight here- the newly famed and ND originated Dot's pretzels are of course sold here. There's locally based chocolates, cheese, jams, honey, hot sauce, peanut butter, popcorn and so much more. You can spend a lot of time just walking around the store and seeing all there is to offer. This was the perfect place to buy my FL friend some homegrown ND stuff. The young man working was also super helpful when I asked his opinion on what to get my friend (should have gotten his name!). This is a great store promoting and showcasing hardworking north Midwesterners products, and yeah you betcha at pretty reasonable and affordable prices. I'll definitely be back!

I ended up picking up an air plant as a souvenir for myself. Looking through them, the air plants (depending on the type of air plant) range from $6 to $12. From examining each plant, they all look healthy. Although, the one i got had some brown leaves on it but i was able to keep it alive. Overall, I recommend this place for any plant parents out there. "Wooden ships on the water, very free and easy Easy, you…read moreknow the way it's supposed to be" (Crosby, Stills & Nash) In May 1982, the Hjemkomst a massive full-size replica of a 78-foot long and 63-foot high Viking ship left Duluth Minnesota, sailed from Lake Superior across the Great Lakes into the Erie Canal, down the Hudson River to New York City and around the Statue of Liberty, then crossed the Atlantic Ocean and sailed to reach Oslo, Norway on August 9, 1982. When they arrived, Norwegian sailors gifted a keg of Norwegian beer to their visitors! After the ship returned to the US, it became the centerpiece of this beautiful museum run by the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County. There are plenty of other exhibits to see, but the sheer scale of the Hjemkomst will captivate your attention during your stay.
