They learned a lot more about photography than I expected them to in just one week, and they came home with lots of cool pictures to share with us. The outings that they do in and around Boston are great - they would be cool field trips even without the photography part. It's a great option for middle school aged kids who have grown out of some summer camp options. My kids have enjoyed it at ages 11 through 15. I highly recommend Big Picture and will definitely be sending my kids again next year.

The kids travel around daily to many different locations in Boston and surrounding areas in small groups for photographic inspiration and fun. They also have daily downtime in the artist space. We loved the small group aspect and the individual attention. One of my children has some significant social issues, and I 100% felt that the owner Jennifer really listened and worked to accommodate my child. I was beyond pleased. This was my daughter's favorite camp of all the camps she has attended over the years, hands down. Highly recommend!

There was absolutely no information given about the drop off and pick up procedure. There is only one narrow road in/out. No information was given about early pick up and where to park, especially how to avoid the busses that arrive at least an hour early. My child told me that some of the camp counselors were "mean" to the younger girls, speaking to them in sharp tones and with belittling language. As a parent I also encountered some negative attitude from some staff. The program for girls who want to be camp counselors is severely lacking in direction and activities. The program describes that the girls will learn leadership skill and work with younger children. According to my child very little of those goals were fulfilled. Overall this was a waste of time and money, not something we would recommend to friends.

All of the kids in her group worked to help her as did the instructors. My impression is that the instructors are excited to teach the kids, know how to engage them, give them the appropriate level of support and alot of positive feedback. A great combination of skills for these instructors to have. By the end of the session my daughter was hooked. Her only comment to me at the end of the week was that she was glad I enrolled her, she stated hat she wanted to come back next year and participate in the camp again and was going to try to recruit a girlfriend to come with her. We will definetly be participants in the camp next year!

I was informed by Eileen that this would not be possible as beaver does not offer any refunds/adjustments after April 1st. I understand that this policy would be reasonable for enrollment but just wanted to request a partial refund for the extended day program which she stated would be impossible. All the other camps that my daughter is signed up for this summer offered a refund to cancel their extended day options. Beaver has a very strict policy and my daughter and son will not sign up for future summer camps at beaver. There are plenty of other great summer camps in the area that are much more flexible and understanding.

I called three times before the start of camp to get a tour, my son had worked there two summers so I assumed my daughter would feel comfortable as well, but never got a call back. I was told there was a pool, and kids would be taking swimming lessons- so I asked about her float vest and was told it was ok; her first activity was at the pool and they made her take her floatie off which scared her. The changing rooms are dark and she was afraid to go in alone. Someone stole items from her lunch.... And in the world of a five year old that was enough, but unfortunately the list goes on. I called and talked to someone claiming to be an executive, and instead of hearing me out and trying to figure something out - I was constantly interrupted and talked over. It was completely unprofessional. Transitions for children can be difficult, but this camp is more concerned with making money than caring for children.

My 11yo loved the Junior Robotics camp! His only wish was one more day to finish coding his robot…read more Back home in San Francisco, my kid had attended many various STEM-based camps, but this was the first truly build-focused camp. No chants, no theme days, no park visits, just 100% build. He was so focused on his build that he skipped lunch on the last two days. (Good and bad haha) On the first day they learned about battle it's (through videos) and built cardboard prototypes with motorized manufactured wheels. These cardboard versions battled it out. :) Days 2 and 3 were modeling their vehicle and 3d printing the models. It looks like Guild Hall is a membership-based makerspace that happens to hold summer camps. The Cambridge location has a LOT of 3d printers, which meant the kids could model, print, and assemble the same day. Amazing! Day 4 was coding the controller. Unfortunately, my kid was maybe a bit too optimistic about how much time was needed to model and print vehicle, so he ended up not having time to code. Guild Hall provided all the info we needed to wrap up his car, so we'll finish it at home. Day 5 was battle and tweak! Or, in my kid's case, continue 3d printing. I was a little taken aback when we walked in that first day by the small number of campers and that all the camps that week would be run in the same space, but in the end it was perfect. The kids get to learn at their own pace and be nosy and learn about the other camps (my kid interacted a lot with a kid in the game coding camp). If we lived in the Boston area, my kid would 100% do more Guild Hall camps and probably also become a member.

We didn't get any of that. * The first day began with a disorganized, unwelcoming drop-off, unclear supervision and no official check-in process. * My 7 y.o. has been grouped with children substantially younger than the advertised 6-8 age range, to the point where much of the staff's attention was given to the preschool-aged children. We were not made aware of the partnership with the preschool beforehand. * My son spent time downstairs during preschool nap time, expected to remain quiet and occupy himself with foam blocks! * We were told that photos would be posted to the parent portal, to give us insight into what our child is up to, but none have ever appeared. * Most importantly, after 4 days of camp my son has not described any of the advertised STEM activities. His main activity was free play with legos and one free clay-play moment. So basically unprofessional babysitting for $675. We didn't return on the 5th day and have requested a partial refund. So far no response.

Both of our children have thrived under the care of their dedicated and compassionate teachers, who consistently go above and beyond to ensure every child feels safe, loved, and engaged. The low attrition rate speaks volumes about the quality and stability of the staff and administration, which is a testament to the strong, positive relationships they build with both the children and parents. From the very beginning, the friendly staff has made us feel welcomed and valued. Their open communication and genuine care have given us peace of mind, knowing our kids are in good hands. The trust we place in Bright Horizons is paramount, and they have never let us down. They create a warm and supportive atmosphere that truly feels like family, making the transition from home to daycare seamless and comforting. Our children enjoyed their time at school, while also developing their literary, social, and physical skills. The indoor Movement zone is a blessing in the winters to get physical activity. The teachers helped us through various life transitions - whether it was preparing our elder daughter when we were expecting our younger one, or when they started as an infant, or eventually transition to Kindergarten. As parents, finding a daycare that mirrors the love and safety of home is invaluable, and Bright Horizons Wayland has exceeded our expectations in every way. We wholeheartedly recommend it to any family seeking a nurturing, reliable, and family-oriented daycare experience. When we were evaluating daycares 6 years ago, the only minor concern was the fact that it is located in an office building and the playground is across the parking lot. But we are so glad that we looked past it. If it is on your mind as a prospective family, rest assured that the school's safety protocol mitigates that. Thank you Bright Horizons family for being such an integral part of our children's growth and happiness!

I requested that they help him go down for naps, that they feed his bottles at specific times and temps. They had him napping and potty training starting at 15 months in the toddler room and he has grown to be a wonderfully tempered and independent boy thanks to them. I have to say, this center may be one of their newer centers, but they have their policies and procedures set in place. Pros: Full time care for working parents Tuition is flexible based on the days and hours that you need The teachers are warm, caring and supportive. The facilities and playground are new and gorgeous Extracurricular activities for kids like painting, movement, music, etc. Cons: Sometimes there can be teacher turnover (but because their center is so well run, the children may notice the changes. They just really need structure and routine in their daily lives) Location The center director and assistant director are really great at communication and if the center was better located for my family, I would have considered staying.
