We used Ryan to install a sliding electric gate. He came out (Santa Barbara) within a few days of my call and explained the process. He also looked at other areas of our fence to properly match the project and give suggestions on what would look best. When he finished building the beautiful custom gate, he installed it quickly and made sure we knew how to operate. He then fixed a few other areas of our large fence that had been bothering us for a while! We were so happy with his work, we hired him for two different gates that we weren't planning on installing yet! I'm terms of customer service, Ryan is top notch. We had a glitch with the electrical panel on the gate, and Ryan came out immediately and fixed it within minutes. Ryan was awesome, I first reached out through the messaging on here late at night requesting info on some gates and he responded right away and took my call. He came out to see my property and gave me a quote for a wooden gate and metal gate and gave me a very reasonable price. It wasn't the cheapest quote I got but I'm so happy I payed a little extra because the work is solid. He's also really chill to talk to which makes a difference for me. Ryan did a great job installing a new motor for my garage door. He was extremely conscientious of my time and he did excellent work.

Ryan is the most dishonest person I have ever met. 1 week after he installed my electric gate (via Lift Master), it did not open, He told me he warrantied his work, but said if the gate doesn't work and its not his fault it would be a $200 charge to come look at it. The gate continued to not work. Andy at WEST COAST GATES, came up for free to help me manually open and close the gate. I called Lift Master myself, and after trouble shooting with them, it was decided that Ryan installed the gate incorrectly. Ryan decided to come to my house and told me that one of the motors on my gate was broken because a car hit it, and furthermore; that the motor was out of warranty. He told me this while on the phone with Lift Master. None of this made sense to me, so when he left my house I called Lift Master to confirm all this information. Lift Master told me that there is no evidence of a car hitting my gate and that my motor was warrantied for 3 more years!!! They suggested that i call someone that i trust to confirm that the motor was actually broken. Andy with WEST COAST GATES, came to my house and spoke with Lift Master directly as they trouble shooted the entire job/installment that Ryan did, also checking both motors. Both motors were in perfect condition!!! Turned out that there were many things Ryan did incorrectly installing the gate. I hired Andy with WEST COAST GATES to fix the problems dues to Ryan's shotty work. My gate has worked perfectly since Andy fixed it. Just to be clear: Ryan did not stand behind his 'warranty' of his installment of my electric gate, he lied about my motor being broken (wanting to charge me for a new motor and $900 labor to install), told me the motor was broken because a car hit the gate (negating any responsibility on his side), and lied that my motor was not warrantied.
