I was referred to Prof. Morrison as a public patient by my then GP, Dr. A. Flavin, Roundstone…read moreHealth Centre. I required a hysterectomy and he denied me an operation and laughed at me and asked "did I realise that is major surgery", that is precisely what was required four years later. When I asked Dr. A. Flavin what he thought of a Gynaecologist at the Galway Clinic he said he could not recommend him because he did not know his work. If a doctor does not know Consultants in the area work, have you ever heard of Cross Border Healthcare Directive. I pay 1,600 subscriptions for Laya Healthcare annually and I would like to know how they would find a Consultant in Spain or France or some other European Country when they do not know the Consultants in Galway? An SHO on Prof. Morrison's team advised me to stay in this country and have the procedure here rather than returning to London (I was home on holiday for a month). When a woman is considered self employed how does she run a home, car, pay a mortgage and many of the other things women happen to do in this country. Prof. Morrison asked me "if I worked outside the home". I don't what home he came from but he certainly did not act in my best interests and I am suing him. He should be struck off, is my opinion given my experience of him. I could not give him a rating. He would not meet with me to discuss the matter, he has avoided my correspondence and he has not signed off on a sick form which I got to him and he would not confirm or deny he had received it on three separate occasions. That is the quality of the "Professionals" in the Gynaecology Department in UCHG I would prefer to have my procedure in London, Spain, France or some other country and charge it back to the HSE. If Ireland can't get basic health care right, who would want to be a citizen? Having worked in the USA and the UK in health care I have never experienced anything like it and hope never to have to be subjected to it again. Regards. Mary King

It's a bit like the time I saw Paul McGrath in the gym and jumped on a treadmill just so that I could say that, technically, I've trained with Paul McGrath. So, I hit the internet and find great recommendations for Galway Dentists. I message them and they get back to be almost instantly and offer me a choice of three appointment times. Heck, I don't get that service back home in Nashville, USA! Google maps gets me there no problem, and I'm seen by Dr. O'Brien. She does a great job and fixes me right up for a very reasonable rate. I can't recommend this place enough! If you are a local, and you are using the "can't get an appointment" excuse to avoid getting your annual exam, you no longer have that excuse! :-) If you are in town from elsewhere and in need, look no further. TIP: Joyce's grocery, across the street from Galway Dentists, offers lots of first hour free underground parking.

AVOID!!! I had an emergency extraction done from here…read more Everything went great until after the procedure when I ran into issues regarding a sick cert and an extremely rude staff member. I asked the secretary for a sick cert after my procedure, she said that was fine and would send it to me ASAP via email. When I got home I noticed that the days on the sick cert were incorrect. I rang back up and tried to explain my situation to a woman called Jeannis Mobe. However Jeannis was just extremely dismissive, unhelpful and condescending. She said that there was absolutely nothing she could do to help me. Even though it was her that inputted the incorrect dates in the first place! She completely disregarded anything that I had to say. Didn't listen to a word she then proceeded to hang the phone up on me. I tried calling back 3 times and no answer, until the 4th time. Another lovely secretary then answered the phone and assured me everything would be okay and she would sort this out. I had to drive back down to the practice shortly after having my extraction to collect this sick cert again. All of this added stress right after a complex extraction was the last thing I needed or wanted. When I went down to the practice the other secretary had no problem in doing out my cert! She was extremely nice, very helpful and even went the extra mile for me. Because of my extremely hostile encounter with Jeannis, I have decided to cancel all of my future appointments with this clinic and will seek another practice instead. It was such a shame too because my experience in here was overall great, however this one thing had just turned me off ever returning.
