In fact, the only reason I stopped here was I had exactly 100 kroner to spend and they had a special for 4 danish for exactly 100 (each one is about 48 so it is quite the deal.) They bake the pastries at this location. You can actually watch them shape and bake the various items. This touch makes the pastries fresh and delicious. I didn't think that they would even taste that great (sorry Norway, danish isn't something that I think of when I think of you) but they were amazing. Perfectly balanced flavors with just the right amount of sweetness.

Leaving an English review in case some American who is lost is looking for caffeine…read more Kaffebrenneriet is a local coffee shop chain with many locations in the Oslo(ish) area. It's comparable to something you'd find in the US. This location is next to the storsenter. You can enter from the front or from the hallway on the side. I've always had a good cup of coffee here, actually a good cup of whatever I've gotten here. There are small food items for purchase. Pastries, sandwiches, and the sort. There are bottled juices and tea also. It wouldn't be a coffee shop if they didn't sell coffee beans. There are choices of you feel like trying something different. There is a lot of seating inside and outside. There are a few chairs near the fireplace and in the back are some hidden tables. If the weather is good you can even sit outside.

Around 11am on a Friday in August, the line was about that. Once in the front, we ordered lattes and cappuccino fredo. Both were excellent, but the fredo took the cake. I loved the marble tables. Also my mother and I loved the wall of plants near the pond. It was so peaceful. We were in the Oslo airport for a 4 hour layover and trying to find something to eat. A sign caught my eye: Voted best cinnamon bun by Yelp. So we ordered 2 cinnamon buns, a custard bun, 2 ham sandwiches (toasted), a latte, and a macchiato. The cinnamon buns were amazing! They are the best cinnamon buns that I've had. They were crunchy caramelized crust with sugar and cinnamon. The inside was soft and buttery. The custard coconut bun was ok. The ham sandwiches were good. The bread was toasted and crisp. It tasted so clean. The free water here was also amazing. It tasted like glacier water. The only water that I've tasted that was as good, was Icelandic water. Maybe everything tasted better because the water was so good. The coffee was solid. It was great find. I would definitely return to Oslo and visit another WB Samson for their cinnamon buns.
