Heaven for crafters, but hell on our wallets. Every crafty hobby I enjoy is fueled here --…read morescrapbooking, card making, baking, journaling, sewing. It's super convenient to be able to get all the supplies I need in one place, but the price tag at the end of the visit can really add up. Luckily, Michael's offers tons of weekly coupons and sales -- you just have to be patient enough (it helps to have the app!). The staff are generally helpful here if you can find them. The scrapbooking section is well-stocked with a variety of great materials. There are cameras located all over these aisles, though, so I guess they have had issues with theft in the scrapbooking section? It's a bit odd. I've been happy with their COVID measures -- before the stores reopened, they offered easy online ordering and contactless pickup (they placed the order in carts out front when you pulled up, and you could retrieve them once the employee went back inside). Since stores opened back up, they require masks, have signage to remind you to keep your distance, and have been kept surfaces clean. Compared to other stores I've visited during this crazy year, all the other customers I've seen inside comply with the rules. In the beginning there were definitely stock issues (one week, there would be an abundance of the adhesive I use, the next week it would be unavailable for two weeks in a row) and staffing issues at the checkout. But they seem to have ironed out the kinks in the new space, and I've been able to find what I needed. The space seems comparable with the last location between Oregon/Lititz Pikes (maybe a little smaller?), but it is definitely easier finding a parking parking space than the other shopping center. The parking LOT in general is a helluva lot more frustrating, though (I agree with Maria D. -- these new "community" shopping area designs are MADDENING). Getting in and out of Belmont is infuriating, especially during the holidays. Save yourself a headache -- stop by in the middle of the day in the middle of the week rather than shopping here on weekends or weeknights.

if I could give less than one star I absolutely would. This has now been the third time within the…read morelast 3 to 4 months that I have visited this store. The lady who operates the registers who is in a power wheelchair (don't know her name so this is how I'm differentiating her from the other employees, nothing against her wheelchair) has rude to not only me but other customers as well. At this point in time, she has alone experience with this and I will not be giving it any more time or my dollars. The same employee each time I have visited has had snarky comments. The first time dating back until about two months ago I was there getting balloons for a birthday party and a few other supplies I decided to go with the prepackaged pack of so clearly they were wrapped in some kind of plastic. When I took them up to the register, she was picking through my pile and sort of through the package of balloons back at me and said "do not put these near me. I am highly allergic to latex." (mind you they were in a package and she wasn't going to be touching the actual latex. Also mind you she was sitting right next to where they were actively blowing up balloons. So if you're not allergic to latex, why are you sitting right next to the latex machine?). She refused to check me out and told me that I would have to get back in the long line and get the other person at the register next to her to check me out as she was not going to touch this package of balloons. Prior to me that day the other customer in line right before me had a newborn baby strapped in a carrier on her body. The baby was starting to get fussy in line and the employee told the mother that she "needs to quiet down her baby because she has a migraine". Mind you there's not really a way to control a crying newborn. It's what they do. My other experience with this employee happened to be this week. I went in to buy a pack of earring organizers on the shelf. It said the pack was $4.50. When I got up to the register, she write me up and told me that the total was $5.35. I handed her six dollars and she looked at me funny and asked if I had more change. I questioned her because I had given her enough for what she told me that the total was. She proceeded to say "I told you that the total was 6.35 if you would have been paying attention to me". At this point, I was getting a little fed up so I just handed her another dollar bill paid and on my way out. I politely told her that although she did not remember me, I remembered her because each time I have visited the store. She has checked me out and she has had an attitude with me and other customers in the process. She proceeded to laugh in my face and not say another word. I left the store and I called back in to speak with the manager on duty and made a report against this employee. However, this experience and previous experiences with the same employee over and over again have deterred me from ever spending my money at again to all other customers please be aware of this employee again. I do not know her name, but I can differentiate her from other employees by saying that she is the only one I've ever seen who works there in a power wheelchair.
