Every time Virginia needed to give me legal advice or perform an action to protect and or strengthen my case she was there and usually met or exceeded my expectations. I was impressed by how she took key points from my case for the short non-oral hearings with the magistrate. She does not pomp you up for things you want to happen but are unlikely. She is pretty straight forward with her assessment of the case and potential outcomes. Even with the pandemic I did not feel like she downgraded her attention to my case while having other clients and or obvious personal obstacles that would arise during that time. It would be difficult to choose the most distressing aspect of Julia Leveridge's counsel. She…read moreprocrastinated in completing important work, and multiple times did not return phone calls or emails in a timely manner. She did not take responsibility for errors and then procrastinated remediation. Ms Leveridge counseled me to pay my ex's share of our county property tax and said she would get that money back ($950). She did not. She failed to complete an agreed entry for my ex to move out at the end of January. Then the paperwork for child support went to FCCS with an incorrect date. I paid 2 extra months child support ($1300) to get them off my back. Julia Leveridge said she would take care of it and did not. Then she procrastinated and did not file an agreed entry to fix this, for more than a year! By that time my ex refused to sign it and FCCS seized part of my stimulus check ($850), and both my federal and state tax refunds ($3500). That's more than $6000 that I lost beyond the $45,000 I paid for her representation. When we got to court, this nightmare got worse quickly. Opposing counsel submitted an offer containing a fraudulent appraisal that substantially increased what I would pay my ex. Julia Leveridge's professional counsel was to make a hasty, high pressure decision to settle, without access to time, tools or resources to evaluate that decision. I gave in to her pressure. I'm still upset, and sorry I chose Julia Leveridge and Kemp, Shaeffer and Rowe.

She worked both the original adoption…read morecase as well as the appeal we had to go through when the magistrate over our case did not follow the law. There are specific (simple and logical) requirements the biological parent(s) must have demonstrated within the past 12 months in order to contest an adoption (such as they at least attempted to stay in touch, attempted to offer some support, etc.) and the bio parent in our case had the ability to meet the requirements but made no attempt for the 12-month period the adoption case was open, so met none of the requirements and legally should not have been able to contest the adoption. It was scary that our case hinged on a magistrate that decide to through those requirements out the window because she felt it might be worth giving the bio parent another chance once she was out of prison and then out of a rehab, even though to this point she had shown no effort to meet the minimal requirements. We were worried that we would not be able to provide our grandson a forever, safe home. But Susan was optimistic. She explained the law was clear and she recommended we appeal. We trusted her and we did appeal. The case was sent to the judge for review who explained through his writings that the law was clear; the law had not been followed and as a result the bio parent did not have the right to contest the adoption. He required the magistrate continue with the process to complete the adoption. We found her staff and operation run very well and never had any difficulty with getting the information we needed. We will always be grateful that we selected Susan to represent our adoption.

Well we went to court she did not win what she wanted but we ended up having a pay a little less…read morethan half of what she wanted back even though we already paid her she waits 7 years later we could not find the proof that we needed that we did not win the case but is over we owe money again to her. I would not recommend her or her office to any body she is very very unorganize and she charge way over billed us for what she did shot use a lot of work that was uncalled for never used in the case and we had to pay for it.
