I had gel on natural nails and wanted it removed and replaced with a different color again in my natural nail. They do go way too thick with the gel and one of my nails was bumpy...not sure how that happened especially since he drilled down all of my natural nails. I don't think the sanding down was necessary since my natural nails were pretty rough already. A touch up would have been sufficient. Bottom line: I was in a hurry and saw that this place was open. I have one more spot in Camden to try for my nails but it looks like I'll be needing to head into Columbia to get any quality work done. Maybe don't go to this spot? We asked for Gel Manicures but he went right for the drill. There was no soaking, no cuticle removal, no massage. He finished her polish and the nails (a 2 color French, 1 nail with polka dots) came out as if my 11 year old had done them herself. I asked him for a regular French with a yellow, blue and red design on the ring finger. The yellow color he used was not covering the nail, and as I asked him to please add another quote, he got mean and rude. He added the blue on top and again, it looked it was done by a child with a home kit. He added some more of the yellow ON TOP of the blue and then it really looked awful! Look - for most of us, getting nails done is a treat! A time away from chores, work... some self care. But this experience was awful! I asked him to please remove it and start over, adding the quotes underneath (wondering WHY IN THE HELL, I had to think for him??) he said to take it because that was the best he could do. The outside of the place had plenty of parking, cute little nail salon I figured I might as well go inside and see how long it would be for a pedicure. As soon as I walked in I noticed a sign that said "cash only" I assumed this wasn't an everyday thing but more of an issue with the pay system but no biggy. The shop was not busy, only one lady getting her nails done. All the nail technician were standing around conversating as I waited patiently for someone to ask me what I needed done. Once we had established what I needed I was told to go sit in the first chair, the nail technician came over and started to fill the basin with what I would consider cold water. I asked her to make the water hot which must of meant warm in her mind. As I sat there my feet soaking in the warm water she turned around and continued talking and joking with the other nail techs. After about 10 minutes my nail tech focused her attention on me and started my pedicure. I ended up getting a basic pedicure for 40.00, usually I would get the middle costing one but I didn't know how long I could stand being in a shop where the laughing and joking were obnoxiously loud. (After all I wanted to relax) The pedicure: The Pedi was what I paid for VERY BASIC. The nail tech must of thought that I was fragile because the way she was gently touching my nails was not it! The gentle filing of my nails did absolutely nothing, and removing any ingrown nails or whatever they do when they get into the sides of nail wasnt even a thing . As she finished up she painted my nails, collected my money and turned on a little mini fan to blow on my nails, never seen her again.
