This is a free near enough all day show at the Doncaster Museum…read more it's always in the second week of July and has a variety of different performers such as bands, singing groups, dance groups etc. It's great for families and groups of friends to come along and watch and support others. you dont have to stay the whole duration as you could just go to watch certain people you may know performing in it. I've performed with my own dance group here on more than one occassion in the past and this year i wasn't performing in the show but came along and supported my group. i can say each year i've been here it has always been a lovely day (weather wise) and seeing others aswell as performing is just spectacular. I've seen some every talented young people perform and it was just amazing to watch. There's other things there such as hot dog stalls and paintings etc. They have a rule for if the weathers bad and it rains, and the rule is if it rains everyone goes in to the civic theatre and perform there. I know my dancing group just wish one time it will actually rain just so we can perform in there as it's just a great place to perform, but the weather is always great so it hasn't happened just yet. There are always people taking photographs of the performers for the newspapers which is great for them to get a chance to be noticed for their talent. Some of the things shown might interest some people and might not interest others but it's definately worth just spending your time there and watching it all as what other show can you go to that's free?

Having first been to Garage in 2010 to see my best friend's band play, this place (that used to be…read moreRed's) is a real cornerstone for me growing up in Doncaster. The bar is really well laid out with great furnishings and a funky purple pool table in the centre - which is 50p a game as opposed to most places which charge £1 a game (or in the case of Ballers - also on Silver Street - £4 for an hour.... who charges by the hour?!) There's a jukebox, some orange sofas akin to The Sims, and a great picture of Dave Grohl wearing a flower halo on the wall beside the entrance. The drinks are really cheap - last time I visited it cost me £2.70 for a jack & coke, and £1.20 for a pint of diet pepsi (I don't judge the non-drinkers I buy for!) Usually, they have -bombs really cheap as well, and a great DJ playing. If you're in Doncaster and fancy an evening in a bar with "real music", then Garage is the place to go.
