I made the plunge and joined Equinox a few weeks ago. After coming here for a few Yelp Events, and…read morebeing that it's close to home, it made my decision an easy one. Although pricey, it's worth it! Let's start off with the amazing customer service I've received. I had the pleasure of meeting Brett. He is a Membership Advisor. He messaged me to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. My very first day as a member he showed me around the the gym from top to bottom, corner to corner. He even offered to take a class with me if I didn't want to take one alone. He is super friendly and funny. He continues to say hello to me BY NAME every time he sees me at the gym. That's amazing that he remembers my name considering how many people he sees and interacts with at the gym every day. Now Christopher (I believe that's his name) works at the shop at the gym where there's clothes, gym bags, and other accessories. When you become a member you get 20% off your first purchase at the shop. So...I took advantage of that! Christopher was patient with me as I looked around the shop. So many choices! Some of their brands run big...so I was happy that I was able to buy a smaller size than I normally would. Christoper helped me pick out some things and even showed me a super comfy sweatshirt. It's a men's sweatshirt...but it's the most comfortable sweatshirt I've ever worn. Comfy and warm! Brian, the manger is also super nice! I had a long conversation with him on my first day at the gym. It was so nice that he took the time out of his day to speak with me. He also greets me by name every time he sees me at the gym. As a new member you get a complimentary Pilates session. I took mine with Jacqueline. The Pilates session is in the studio and it's just you and the trainer. Jacqueline was very patient with me as I've never done Pilates before. She showed me how to use the machines. She also taught me that Pilates isn't just body movements...but it's about your mind as well. Which is very true. We even laughed! Who laughs when working out? That's what I thought. You also get a complimentary personal training session as a new member. I had the pleasure of meeting Tracy. She is wonderful! She understood me and my goals. She was patient and answered my questions. We also laughed a little. Again, who laughs when on an 10% incline and 3.5 speed on a treadmill?? That's what I thought! I felt so welcomed as a new member! Besides the "Welcome" email and "Welcome Packet" I received, I received a hand written welcome card in the mail, and another welcome card in the mail. I can truly tell the Equinox cares about their members. On to the gym... SO many machines for cardio and strength training! I've never had to wait for a machine. One of the things I like about the machines is that they have internet. I've enjoyed watching YouTube videos to get me through my workouts. You can even access Facebook, Google...and a ton of other things. You can sync LoseIt and other apps if you use apps to calorie count or to keep track of your food intake. There's also WiFi at the gym...so you can bring your iPad or other device and watch Netflix as you work out! I am guilty of this! :o) If you aren't sure how to use a strength training machine, don't be scared. During my tour of the gym, Brett mentioned there is always staff on the floor that will show you how to use them! Don't be shy...ask them! Locker rooms... I can't speak for the men's locker room, but the woman's locker room as everything you can think of. Hair dryers, straighteners, razors, tampons, mouth wash, hair gel, shaving cream, shower caps...etc. There's also a filtered water filling station and a digital scale. Everything you can ask for! Now the showers are wonderful. Kiehl's shower products are like a dream. They smell so yummy, and have me feeling refreshed. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and face wash. The showers are nice and hot! AND... eucalyptus towels!!! Smell so nice, especially after a sweaty workout! What are you waiting for?? GO workout at Equinox!

Machines are old, otherwise the gym is very clean and the people are very nice and helpfulread more

I have been a member of 2 other local gyms, could not remain a consistent member. December 2025 my wife convinced me to stop-over at Lifetime. Nick Sanders took us on a tour, explained the facilities, costs, etc. I am overwhelmed by the place & concerned I won't fit-in nor learn he equipment. Nick spoke extensively with me about how common this emotion is for both women & men! He counseled me to take 1 step at a time and understand this was an important lifestyle decision. Joined the club & will begin the journey after returning from visiting the grandkids in California, where btw they have a club not far from their home. Wish me luck!

Prices are a bit steep but it gets better if you go on a family plan. They also provide a lot of gym amenities to make the pricetag worth it. From pickleball courts to rock climbing. Basketball courts as well. There are so many things to do at the facility beyond normal gym and fitness. They also have an indoor and outdoor pool. Both of them are very large and spacious. The outdoor one also has waterslides and a poolside bar and grill. It really feels like a resort. The indoor amenities are good as well. You can relax in the hot tub or sit in a sauna/steam room. There are also cold plunge pools. I love the unlimited studio classes. Xtreme intervals and maxout upper/lower body are my favorites. The instructors are energetic and motivating. They always keep me on my toes while keeping the overall class still fun and entertaining. If you're looking for more than just a basic gym, Life Time is the place to be. Highly recommend--it's transformed my fitness routine!

We usually do the unlimited classes and 3-4x per week which really helped us get back into working out in 2021 after the pandemic. There are also some fun challenges during different months which were fun and kicked us into high gear! Highly recommend to anyone looking to start a new workout routine. I especially love the accountability of signing up for a class and even if you do not feel like going in the morning. Trust me I'd rather show up then pay the penalty. Personally, I find it motivating! There was once where we could not make it due to personal reasons, and they waived the fee for us due to the issue being last minute and unavoidable. Jordan, the general manager is great with any concerns or changes. I know some people complain about this, but just remember that if you need to cancel they need 30 day notice! We had no issues when cancelling as we were moving out of state to Chicago. Would have loved to stay if I could have! Overall this studio is understanding, kind, and I love all the instructors and staff that work there! They also work with your personal goals, and push you to improve every class. If you have any injuries or limitations they also make it easy to find alternatives and never shame or make you feel bad. I love the vibe and energy of this group, you will too!

It can get a bit crowded at certain times of the day and since its a really small gym youll be waiting a bit to use your preferred machine. The staff are all well mannered people and have never given any issues. HOWEVER........ The one major drawback to this place is that it almost never has any running hot water. Every month seems to be an issue (and im not exaggerating). Im not sure if they are having trouble paying the bills here or if someone is turning the hot water valve off for days at a time but it is a constant issue. Me personally I work out before i head straight to work so a shower is needed after a hard hour or two sweating bullets. Just this morning I walked to the locker room after working out and one of the guys who frequents this place said to me "hey the water is luke warm today" and this is the running gag with everyone here, being delighted just for luke warm shower water. Litterally everyone in the locker complains about it every month. Anywho I step in the shower and put it on max heat but instead was drenched in water from antarctica. I did find some comic relief in it though, as others who stepped in there showers looking forward to the "luke warm" rumor but were disappointed, and then it became a symphony of complaints and anguish LOL. Theres something very funny about grown men just in agony about not having hot water. Men of all ages young and old getting together in a gym locker room and throwing a fit. I was told that blink was bought out and now owned by a company called PURE FITNESS. Well pure fitness, how about some pure hot water? Seriously though, the only reason i still come here is because its literally right by my job and also because its been so hot that the below zero water isnt so bad once you step outside in that 90 plus degree heat. Yet winter will be upon us soon and i dont know if i can survive bathing in arctic water without turning into a chocolate freezy pop. The one thing I do appreciate is that when you walk in they now have a sign that stands by the desk letting you know that theres no hot water. The thing is the sign is standing for weeks at a time. Seriously, in june there was no hot water for almost 3 straight weeks. I mean i cant understand whats going on at this place. We had hot water all last week and then i walk in this morning and its cold again. I just realized that it is the end of the month and I know now that liberty utilities doesnt play about that money.....

The gym isn't super big, but it wasn't massively overcrowded either so I didn't have to wait for any machine at all. All of the machines were in working order so I got to use what I wanted to use, the weight racks were actually well put together and not scattered all over the place...I'm guessing since this is a Long Island area, people have better manners. I'm giving this place a 5 and it's a generous one. Staff seemed pretty nonexistent and I had to get their attention to greet them, but I'll let it slide because they do take care of the gym or at least make sure the other gym goers not mess it up. It was a good day here.

Work out, leave feeling like this is your new happy place! Long version - Please continue reading: First of all, this is my second time trying CrossFit (2018) after being really inspired by one of my girlfriend's facebook story/posts. She's amazing!!! I stayed away from CrossFit because I didn't think it was a good match for me. I decided to give it another shot after speaking to her. Cleanliness: I'm a clean freak. I'm neurotic. I know, I'm crazy but hey! It's the pandemic. This gym is super clean and their bathroom is super clean (yes, I checked and I approve of how clean it is). There are a few lockers in there which I haven't used. I just put my stuff against the wall and wait for the fun class to begin. After the equipments are used, each members wipe it down with Saniwipes (yes, I checked this as well). All the barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, jump rope, rowing machine, bike, etc EVERYTHING is cleaned after use! I love it! Staff: I've only took classes lead by these Coaches: James, Mike, Jesse. This review is based off of them. I always ask questions. Sometimes, questions bother people and they get annoyed. These three coaches are amazing! They're super friendly and was answering all of the questions that I have. They're super friendly and very motivating. Any injuries you may have, please speak to them! They were able to modify certain workouts for me and really paid attention to my form (along with the others). You could see the passion in them when they speak about the workouts. They explain every workout, movement, and form. They go over this before it starts. Class: You will sweat. Your hearts going to pound. HARD! Your heart's going to feel like it's about to pop out of your mouth. Okay, okay..That's IF you're unhealthy like me and it's been years since you've worked out. Everyone works out really hard and are super motivational! You will be sore for the next 3 days! After 3 classes, I felt healthier, had more stamina, was able to shovel snow without a problem (no, really...). I seriously had WAYYYYY more energy than expected and of course, I was in good spirits! Exercise really makes a difference in your mood and I will proudly say Peak180 is now my new happy place! Oh! I need to mention... they have whiteboards! So if you have a lot on your mind like me, grab one. Write down what you need to do. It'll make your life easier when your brain decides to sleep as you tear your muscle fibers. Members: A bunch of amazing people! They're welcoming, friendly, and a bunch of beasts! Watching them work out as I did really kept me going. I didn't want to give up even though my body felt like jello. Parking: There's PLENTY of parking in the back. Work out, grab some coffee at Mongo's afterwards (if they're still open) Location: Enter the lot, drive all the way to the back, make a left and you'll see this wonderful place! For those who have stuck around til the end to read my review, thank you! Peak180 has gained a new loyal member. Thanks, everyone! I'm excited and will be updating this review as time goes by. Just do it. Just stop by and take a class. DO NOT FORGET THAT WATER!!! Before, during, and after so your muscles will thank you.

COACH CHANDO: 1)…read moreOBSERVANT - In the 2 days (90 minutes combined) I had visited the training center, he seemed to know everything about me just by the way I was training with him. Keep in mind that there are other students in the class, but he notices every detail about his students, the breath we take per move/reps (even with masks on), 2) PROFESSIONAL & COMMUNICATIVE - With his keen observation skills, he's quick to correct posture or can tell if we've trained before (I say he's psychic), he also has the ability to tell how we carry our backpacks/or handbags and if they are heavy or not, he will know based on our posture if we are the type who have sedimentary jobs or not and advises on how to autocorrect form. I do value the fact as we work out, he tells us where we should be feeling the burn and why and which part of the body we are working. 3) FRIENDLY & WARM/INTERPERSONAL SKILLS - he doesn't intimidate and he can easily make quick connections to build rapport and trust so as we are working out, he empowers us with confidence we need to push ourselves. He intuitively knows our personal limit as to when we need to be pushed hard and when we need to slow it down. F45 PLAINVIEW 1) I've been to many gyms and worked out with many trainers, but i do enjoy the F45 concept, 45 minutes your in and your out with a sweat. This is a great concept for those individuals who lack discipline in a gym environment. 2) Days are scheduled based on what the functional exercises and which area of the body you will be working (core, upper, lower, cardio, etc). 3) The camaraderie you gain when you attend. I only attended 2 sessions and the members welcomed me with open arms and thumbs up support in a few of the exercises I failed at. We all have a common objective in mind and its just getting through the 45 minutes is where we bond at... then its a great feeling when you see them again the very next day.
