So I feel like if you don't have a serious repair that your car needs, you should be able to bring…read moreit just about any gas station or service center with the assurance they aren't going to screw you. I'm talking oil change, maybe fixing a flat, inspections...things like that. WELL. I brought my car to this mobil last year (I got this car in 2011 and between purchase and 2013, I think I put about 7,000 miles on the car, total. I don't drive a lot) for an inspection. The guy calls me and tells me I need new brakes. I think "well, thats odd" but I tell him to go ahead and take care of it - in the event I need to drive longer distances or anything like that, at least I know my car is in good working condition. Plus, I needed my inspection done. I bring my car back to these guys last week (and I had gotten an oil change two weeks before, but to this point, I had driven 3,800 miles over the full calendar year. How do I know? I looked at the mileage on my inspection sticker from last year and where I was at) for my inspection, drop it off, come home...I get a call. Apparently...I need new brakes again! So, I say "how is that possible?" and he says "well, they're all rusted and worn down" and I said "no, I mean, how is it possible that I need new brakes when I got brakes last year, and I barely drive?" and he goes "Maybe they didn't do a good job or replace anything" ::awkward pause:: Me: "You guys did the work last year" Mechanic: "What?" Me: "yes. You did the work last year. The reciept is in my glove box" ::awkward pause:: Mechanic: "I'm going to have to check this out and I'll get back to you" I get another call twenty minutes later..."So...you dont need new brakes" cmon guy. I know I'm a chic, but if you're gona try and screw someone, at least do your research. Also - their prices blow. Gas wise...go up the block to long beach road and go to Hess, you'll save about 15cents on the gallon. These guys charge you credit prices for debit cards, which makes me crazy and their cash price is still over priced.
