First a disclaimer, I never made it inside the restaurant but stayed out on the patio because the…read moreweather was simply fabulous that night. Looked like everyone had the same idea. The patio overlooks the Tiergaertner Tor Platz and it was crowded like a beehive tonight. The huge plaza tree was lit up and thousands of folks enjoying their night on the patios of the surrounding restaurants, on the plaza benches, or even seated on the ground. Great ambiance all together. The staff was very attentive and we didn't seem to have an assigned server as any of them passing by checked to see if we needed anything. The menu here changes often, but also has a few staples and some innovative takes on our Franconian dishes. So we discovered Pretzel pizza... I was suspicious at first, reading the list of ingredients, but threw caution in the wind and went for the Franconian version (my friend opted for the Vegetarian). It really did sound horrible... laugen dough (which is what pretzels are made of), Schmarrn (related to sourcream, or cream cheese, but not quite the same), local brats, kraut, cheese and tomatoes. I was prepared for a nightmare... but it ended up being delicious. The pizzas were served with a mini salad topping the middle of it. The dough was nice and thin and had that typical nice chewy crust all around. The ingredients worked surprisingly well together, but could have done without the tomatoes. Visually they were a nice pop of colors, but tastewise they had no business on the Franconian Pretzel pizza. I didn't try the vegetarian version, but my friend, who is a tiny person, ate the entire thing, whereas I could only finish half of mine. So I would say she enjoyed it. I had the pana cotta with blueberry compote and was delighted to see the compote made from the small blueberries I grew up with instead of these huge overbred tasteless blueberries so common nowadays. Kudos to this place. Check it out if you are ever in the area.

Alright, in search for great Nürnberg sushi I was lead to this little gem hidden behind a bunch of…read moreindustrial buildings. This locale is easily accessible with public transportation. The restaurant itself has a good selection of parking spots available during the evening and weekend. I had a pretty large meal and a couple appetisers. First of all we got a small complimentary bowl of cold soybeans. They were very crunchy and quite refreshing with a hint of sesame. I ordered some Miso soup as an appetiser and it was very good! Only thing I have to complain about is I feel like the Miso soup was too salty. Now on to the great main course! I ordered a large variety of sushi as my meal to give the place a sushi test run and I must say I was very, VERY pleased with the results! All of the sushi had fresh and delicious vegetables consisting with absolutely great quality fish. The entire plate was wonderfully decorated and each piece of sushi had its own magic. I ended up ordering too much and had to take some home with me! A lot of the sushi had very good flavour compatibility with each other, my personal favourite being fried white fish with Cucumber and avocado. It was simply an experience. The place had a great ambience to it, consisting of a classic yet modern look with touches of Japanese culture. The serving staff were also really great! Spoke multiple languages and was very friendly to my requests! A very soft music plays in the background and sets a great relaxed mood. Prices aren't extreme! considering the amount of sushi you get for what you pay and especially how good it is! All in all this place is a perfect place to get some sushi if you are heading from Nürnberg to Fürth or vice versa, either public or private transportation it is a great place to stop and try, I know I will be stopping by again!

Great place for sushi. Good service. A bit far from Nuremberg city center but not so crowded.read more
