AVOID THIS LOCATION FOR EYE WEAR…read more My optician, Maggie La, was amazing, answered all my questions, took the time to answer all of my questions, and gave me a prescription that is working. However, my experience with the front counter staff was painful. Let's start with the girl who performed the testing prior to seeing my optician struggled, tests had to be redone, and one test could not be completed, as the girl forgot to close out my file on one machine, before moving to another machine, and had to get help. This lack of understanding of the process in testing a patient was concerning. The same girl took my Walmart readers off the table, and tested them, without asking, treating them as if they were my current pair of glasses. I had to ask her to not use them for anything related to the testing being completed. I felt that the staff that were on site were unprepared to fit me for new frames and lenses, so I left and returned during the week, hoping to work with a more experienced and professional person. When I returned and selected frames and placed my order, there was no expectation of timelines for lenses and glasses to be prepared. After waiting almost 2 weeks with no reply, I called to ask where the glasses were and when they would be ready, and what my options were. When I came to pick up my glasses, the girl at the front counter could not answer simple questions relating to the glasses, what my satisfaction period is. All I got was a blank star and several shrugs, it was like the girl did not understand my question, or know the answer. I had to ask to speak with someone else, and spoke with who I believe was Alexis, based on the name on my receipt. During pick-up there was no check on fitment, just a cursory check as to how vision is with the glasses. No check of fitment, nothing as I picked up the glasses and case and left. I now am experiencing fitment issues with the glasses, they are sliding down my face and sitting lopsided, needing constant adjustment every 10-15 minutes of wear. My last question is can I go to any other Beyond Vision locations for adjustment, as I have low confidence in the staff at Oxford? The frames were useable, however were bound to break complete soon. I had asked a while back if they were repairable, however one of the staff stated probably not, so I should just get an exam and new frames. I initially was not impressed with this response, as at the time the frames were only two Years old, and were rather costly($300-400). I contacted the company that produce the frames, and they sent me on a wild goose chase to find a replacement part, however they eventually contacted IRIS to see if they could help. In short, after almost a Year, they were able to get the correct replacement arm, and my frames are fixed :) However please be aware, that most eye-frame companies only produce certain frames with parts readily available for two Years, where as a few frameless glasses are able to be repaired with available parts for several Years after production of the frames...

I have an unusually small head (I'm only 5'2") so I often have problems finding glasses that fit me and sometimes have to buy kids sizes - so I figured a place that specialized in women might have a wider range of smaller sizes. Went in and made an appointment for a new eye check up at the same time, no problems, and then came back a week later to see the optometrist. She was super nice, very helpful and gave a lot of advice on whether to consider progressive lenses and what to look for. She also recommended some eyedrops, but unfortunately did not write the name down, so I emailed the place when I remembered later to ask what it was. They said it was probably one of two brands, which they named, but neither seemed familiar so I asked them to check when the optometrist was back in the office and confirm. It's been over a week now and they haven't replied, so unless the optometrist has gone on extended holiday, they've clearly forgotten about me - taking off a star for that :( I found the fitting helpful, it's great to have someone give dedicated 1-on-1 advice about frames and what suits, and they were happy to take a couple of photos with my top choices so I could see how they looked. I was told the glasses would take up to 10 work days to be ready, so I was pleasantly surprised to hear back after only 3 days that they were ready to pick up. I stopped by during my lunch hour to collect them however and this is where the other rating star gets lost - walked in and was completely and utterly ignored. The receptionist was nowhere to be seen, and the two ladies present were fitting other people with glasses and didn't even look at me. Even though one of them must have had to get up and buzz me in, they didn't even acknowledge my existence long enough to ask me to wait a moment. I ended up standing around for at least 5 minutes completely ignored until another customer wrapped up and then one was able to help me collect the new glasses. I returned the weekend after to ask if they could adjust the fit of one earpiece slightly, and exact same experience. No receptionist to be seen, two ladies busy fitting other clients and not a word, not even eye contact, ended up standing around completely ignored for 10 minutes without even being acknowledged or told how long the wait was. This is when I started wandering around to take a few photos of the place to add on Yelp, since apparently nobody even cared that I existed - the optometrist office side of the place was entirely deserted, I could have wandered into the examination offices and rifled through the supplies if I'd wanted to, there was nobody present and nobody paying any attention to me. Finally after a long wait another customer wrapped up and someone was free to help me - at which point she was perfectly polite and helpful to me, but again totally ignored the man who entered while she was talking to me. A few thoughts - first, the optometrist was great, I do like the fitting service, and their selection of smaller sized frames seemed fine. However, where is the receptionist? If the store is open, there should be a receptionist at the desk at all times, which means providing cover for her lunch and other breaks. If that's not possible, then ALL staff should be ready to promptly greet new customers and provide an idea of the wait time. Completely ignoring customers is a terrible experience and conveys a complete lack of interest in the customer and a lack of value for our time. The fact they've completely forgotten to answer my email emphasizes this. The customer service (or lack of) is definitely detracting from what would otherwise have been a good experience here, which is quite disappointing.
