When stepping inside, you can instantly see the rich heritage of this landmark location and the patrons that have long frequented it. I was on a specific hunt for a few vintage records and was very impressed with their selection and organization. The owner was more than helpful and friendly. One of the best parts of the experience was the transaction. I had five records and the owner gave me a very reasonable price. I appreciated the informality of the pricing and the long-forgotten feeling of what it is like to buy from an indecently owned business. Please shop local and continue to support our heritage of local businesses, like the gem that is Been Around Records.

I have only shopped in the Jazz record section, but there are also large sections of other records (all genres), CDs (all genres), and DVDs. I can't speak to their breadth. I suggest calling ahead if you're looking for a specific artist, album, etc. There is also a small section of hi-fi equipment but I haven't looked closely at them. Some caveats you might find relevant, but which don't detract from my opinion of the store: - Children under 16 require an adult chaperone. No bags or jackets are allowed. -A sign at the register says sales are 100% guaranteed and returnable within 7 days for full store credit, but new CDs are not returnable for skipping. -I don't believe there is a station to listen to vinyl before buying it. I'd be surprised if there were because it causes damage to unsold merchandise.

We shopped at a lot of places and found a nice Sony KDL series at this location. Once the "Manager" stopped yelling at the other employee, he turned on a fake smile to help me. I say manager in quotes because I later found out he wasn't the manager. He introduced himself as the manager but no manager looks like a hippy straight out of the 60's and actually smells fresh of weed... the television I had my eye on was part of their sticker clearance sale for half off the asking price. I thought it was a good deal but I hesitated because the vibes from the fake manager were starting to make me very uncomfortable. Not only was he glancing at my breasts every turn of his head, he was also very mean to the other employee trying to help. As I was starting to leave, he yelled wait and reluctantly I did. He went over to the computer and lowered the price of the tv for the sale but by that time I really wanted to leave. After I got my bearings back, I decided to go back and purchase the tv a few days later if they had it available. I assume the actual manager was there when I went back because he seemed like he knew what he was doing. But he stopped midway through the transaction and accused me (or somebody else) of putting the half off sticker on the tv because it didn't match the sale item or something. I tried to explain the previous employee changed the price but he didn't believe me. I stormed out. I'm not going to shop here again. They let their employees treat others like crap and frankly they hire creeps. I didn't say anything till now because I keep finding myself bothered by the whole situation.
