I went into future tech shortly before Christmas as my phone wouldn't charge so first I went into a bell store who is my provider and they directed me next door. I took the phone in and asked him if they could plug it in to see if it would charge there to see whether or not it was just my charge card or my charging device. The gentleman working at night seemed very adept and knowledgeable so I trusted him he said that he could get a diagnostic done on my phone for $29 and that I would have it that the next business day. I decided to do that and I purchased open box phone that was supposed to be exactly like the one I was having looked at. There were many issues with all of this the phone which was supposed to be available the next day and ended up being over a month before I got it back it was in pieces it hadn't even been put back together they decided nicely not to charge me for the new screen that they put on it which I didn't need in the first place as the only issue was charging the stupid phone. He had obviously taken it apart and done God knows what and I was advised that it was a logic board problem so the phone was unrepairable. The phone I purchased every time it came to an ad with flash it did not have enough storage even though it was a 32 storage over 29 gigs were used for all the stuff that was already on the phone which I had a nightmare removing any of it so constantly being told that I was almost out of storage I have nothing on the phone I have approximately four pictures to download for paperwork that needed to be filled out and four games all of this well under the 2 GB that I had left to use on my phone the only 2 GB that was ever available in the first place. This was obviously not an out of the box phone something was definitely wrong as down where the battery would be it was sort of bubbly so it would make a crackling noise if you pressed on that area and to say I'm frustrated angry etc would be an incredible understatement. Whoever their check is is unprofessional does not know what he's doing he took a phone that wouldn't charge and completely destroyed it a phone that had incredibly important information that unfortunately had not been backed up which was my fault in the first place but some of this would not be able to be backed up because of the app that it was using. And I couldn't back it up because I couldn't get the phone to turn on cuz it wouldn't charge so he did manage to get the phone to turn on so in that case I could have backed up everything unless he had already destroyed it at that point which was why he kept the phone so long because he had done something to the logic board. Allegedly. I am hoping if I could find a technician who not only knows what they're doing but is reliable and reputable will be able to fix my phone so I can get this information off of it. It is critical and there's no other way to get a hold of it. I've considered doing a transfer since it can be turned on but honestly I'm afraid cuz I do not know what he did. Do not get any repairs done at this store do you not buy phones at this store they are not open box they are not close box I believe that they are either poorly fixed phones or you know refurbished possibly I do not believe that they are new not at this point I believe that potentially this particular store at any rate buys substandard materials has technicians who are poorly trained if at all do not let them touch your phones do not buy one from them the prices might be good but it's not worth the end result do not go to this store don't end up upset like me and out of pocket. read more

I took my e-reader there to replace the charging port. I was told it would be a few days and ended up being almost 2 weeks. The owner seemed nice and apologetic and my kobo worked fine for a month. Then the same thing happened so I took it somewhere else. They were shocked when they opened it. Not only had they not changed the port, but they heated up the port to try and fuse it, and then used a chewed up piece of paper to wedge it down into place. I am soooo angry and will never go there again. I actually gave them a good review after getting my kobo back! The guy who fixed it properly gave me the old port to show me and look pictures of the inside. I plan to take it in and show him. I want my money back! read more

Brought my phone in with a stuck sim card. They said it would be $85 to remove it and to come back in the afternoon to pick it up. Came back in the afternoon and there was another guy working there and the phone will wasn't done. He said they have to break the screen in order to take the phone apart (which I found out with the proper training and tools that you don't have to) I said be careful and try to do it without breaking the screen. He called me back Saturday night and said he got the phone apart no problem. I went in Monday to pick it up to find out he broke the screen and I need a new one. I am beyond shocked and extremely frustrated at the cheap and sloppy service that this phone repair shop provided me. Back in December, I went to this place in the mall near the food court asking for both my iPhone XS max screen repaired. Both sides of the glass sides were cracked, it happened because I didn't have a screen protector on and I had a very dinky/flimsy clear case on that wasn't protecting my phone well. At first they quoted me $450 not including taxes to fix both glass sides. I thought that was an absolute rip off, so I tried to bargain with the man and told him I was a student and I didn't have that much money available to pay him that. (I have a $400 spending cap on my debit card) Eventually, he gave in and said he would do it for $350. I settled on this because I didn't have enough money at the time to go buy myself a new iPhone which would've costed me much more. Once it was fixed I was very worried it may happen again so I bought myself a glass screen protector and an otter box case (very protective case) from the same exact store/company (FutureTech) but at a different location in the mall the very next day when my bank account reset from the heavy spending I did the day prior. Yesterday on March 15th, only about 3 months after I visited for the repair, my phone fell only about a 2 metres drop out of my hands and the front, back, and glass screen protector all couldn't hold up. I can see the poor quality done in the chip at the back you could visually see the cheap glue that this repair shop placed to seal the glass on the phone. Absolutely horrible experience. Now I need to go spend more money on an expensive new iPhone, thank you for the shit service FutureTech ! read more

Went to the store only after invited in by manager to confront me over the initial Yelp review . He asked what he could do to remedy the situation . I said to start is provide me with all the codes to unlock the phone . He provided me with one set and it did not work . I returned the next day to tell him it did not work . I also said that since he told me that the phone was permanently locked to Telus, that taking it to be unlocked to someone else would be pointless . He then had the nerve to question me about if I had anybody else take a look at the furmware since the initial unlocking . I said the only time anybody was looking at the phone firmware was when I returned the phone back to them after it re-locked . He then asked what I think should be done . I said the only fair thing is that since it re-locked after they initially unlocked it they should refund me the amount that I paid for unlocking it because I paid for having it unlocked permanently not for only three months . The manager said he could only give me store credit . I said what good does store credit do me if the problem with my phone is still not resolved ? I then said I'm never coming back there and all he did was shrug it off and I walked out . On side note, on the day I initially got my phone unlocked, he offered to unlock it for free if I agreed to trade my Samsung Galaxy S6 Echo for an S5 . He tried to tell me that it was pretty much the same phone . Told him no thanks . read more
