First I feel like I was misinformed regarding which option to choose for the extraction. Having laughing gas or nitros for your child is NOT equivalent to being "put to sleep". They will say you have an option but for an extraction there should really be NO option using Nitros. My daughter's experience was terrible! She screamed and seemed to feel everything. I was told it's because the tooth was not loose yet which is a bunch of BS. I am livid!!! The experience traumatized me as a spectator so I can't imagine what my 7 year old is feeling.

(We even go to her practice even though we have an excellent Pediatric dentist in our own family!) Doctor Accord has always taken time to build a relationship with our children and stresses the importance of oral hygiene in a fun and relaxed environment. It is obvious that she could take twice as many patients during the day but chooses not to to provide a higher standard of care. We have always had an exceptional experience with all of the staff at her practice. On top of that her place is beautifully done in the theme of the derby and Louisville! Looking at the other reviews makes me wonder about how absurd people are - if people can't keep track of their own appointments and get charged that is their own fault - it is clearly disclosed. If people don't realize that a doctor can run behind and there is the occasional wait then what kind of rushed care are they expecting? Dr. Accord recently spent additional time with a new member of our family carefully explaining to him all aspects of his dental care and reduced his stress about his visit. I'm sure this made her run a little behind, but I appreciate the standard of care and that we weren't rushed. The ladies in the front saved is big bucks when they called another practice and got scans sent over so new xrays didn't have to be ordered! This time and effort was not unnoticed!

Our daughter sees no stranger and has never had a fear in her life, until this day. We were scheduled back to this practice at the next available date for a full sedation. I called and cancelled and was charged for cancellation of a surgery appointment. It's been over a year since this incident and my daughter (now almost 6) is traumatized. I am appalled at the positive reviews when our experience was borderline abusive. I feel like I failed my daughter this day and I am ashamed I didn't step in and stop the doctor from forcing my terrified daughter down and they tried to sedate her.

We've gone every 6 months for regular checkups, and she is hands down the sweetest, most patient, and most fun dentist we could ever hope for. Honestly, I wish she had an adult practice--I'd be first in line to be her patient! Thanks to her care, my kids have had very few dental issues, but if anything ever came up, there's no one I'd trust more than Dr. Jenna. Her newly expanded office is beautiful--spacious, spotless, and so welcoming. The staff is equally incredible. At our last appointment, Dr. Dotsey found a small cavity in one of my son's teeth. He could have recommended at immediate fix. So instead he suggested we engage in watchful waiting of the cavity to give my son more time to become comfortable. I can't express how at ease Dr. Dotsey makes me feel. His obvious concern not only for my son's teeth, but also for his feelings and comfort level is a credit to both him and the practice. While the visits were generally pleasant, some of the staff there were not as understanding of her needs. When you have a child who is autistic, you do everything you can to make them feel comfortable, but that wasn't always the case. We recently switched to Fern Creek Pediatric Dentistry, and the difference has been incredible. From our very first visit, my daughter felt at ease. She even allowed them to attempt the cleaning until she couldn't handle it anymore. On our most recent visit, she let them complete all the procedures! We still had a few hiccups, but the patience and encouragement from the dental assistant made all the difference. It was the first time she allowed a complete cleaning, and it was simply amazing. My husband told them he would NEVER get an implant. So after his extraction they proceeded to do a bone graft, after he said he wouldn't want it. I went to talk to them and they told me I wasn't on his Hippa paperwork. They chose to not listen to their patient and charged him 2,500. my husband has stitches and a membrane that has to be taken out. He will never return back there and he will go somewhere else. Very unhappy will this practice. More worried about making money than making their patient happy.
