I am saddened to say - this review is my second bad experience with Fusion Hair Salon. The first time I went in (well over a year ago) I had a color consult done. I just wanted my color to look a little more blended. The girl who helped me then was incredibly rude. Grabbing my hair like it was filthy and questioned why I would let someone do 'that' to my hair. (Whatever "THAT" was.) The woman made me feel so uncomfortable and like such a large inconvenience. She told me that my hair was "fixable" but I would have to pay for a color correction. I took my business else where and had no problem getting the stylist to achieve what I asked for.(Without telling me my hair CURRENT hair color was terrible.) Back at the beginning of 2014, I won a contest Fusion had regarding a new service they would be offering starting on Valentine's day. I correctly guessed that it would be a "Braid Bar" and won a Fusion "Braid Bar Experience." I thought it was a great opportunity to give the salon another chance and was excited to receive the service as I never get to spend money like that on my self. If the purpose of the contest was to promote that service, they did not put out a quality product for me to promote. I described my vision to the stylist who spoke less than 20 words to me during the entire appointment. I said I wanted a tight, fishtail braid with some Volume up top (to get a faux hawk-esque look.) Instead I got a flat, loose fishtail braid. It was not what I wanted, but it looked ok(From what I could see.) I knew my time was limited as we were supposed to travel to the city for a concert; so I thanked the girl who didn't even say good bye to me, or any other words for that matter, I left a tip even though she was a horribly rude person who did a careless job on my hair. (Another stylist stepped in to tuck up lose hairs that MY stylist was willing to leave out and look incredibly bad.) Another reason I should not have tipped her. By the time I drove 15 minutes back to my home, my hair was a complete disaster. I thought maybe I could salvage it quickly before we had to leave, but it couldn't be saved. The style was completely falling out everywhere, and my hair was SO OVER hair sprayed, I couldn't take it out and even throw it into a pony tail - it looked like I had not showered in weeks. So thanks to my Free Fusion BRAID BAR experience, I missed out on a concert that I was incredibly excited to go to - Needless to say - I will not be returning. My husband phoned and complained when we got home; I am sure people are going to ask if we gave them an opportunity to correct this mistake. The answer: 1 - we were not even offered anything but an apology from the receptionist. No one even called my husband or myself to apologize. Even if they would have offered to redo it on another day, I would have declined. You should never walk into a spa or salon and feel like a burden. You pay a lot of money for those services, you should be getting the very best treatment to make you relax and enjoy your time there. Never again will I give any business to Fusion Hair Design which makes me sad as I do see they have a lot of community involvement. Maybe they just need to instill those good values on ALL of their staff. I did notice when I was in there that I was the ONLY client who was not being talked to. All the other stylists were incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming to their clients. Maybe because my appointment was "free" I was not given the same welcome? Regardless, My appointment ended up costing me 2 - 11th row from the stage concert tickets. So it wasn't so "free" after all. These Braid styles start at $25 and go up from there - so if you're looking for a professional braided hairstyle - you may want to look elsewhere. read more
