Fusion Dance Center is not only a place to learn dance steps, but also a community of caring people! We strive to create a safe space where kids feel supported and free to be themselves. FDC views dance as a medium of art intended to bring out our own unique expression of our inner selves while also moving as one with others! FDC focuses on artistry with technique and believes dance and music together should blend into Imagery that is captivating. Whether telling a story, sharing deep emotions, or simply exuding joy of movement, our dances all have a purpose of bringing us together and providing a healthy outlet of self expression. We offer classes in a variety of genres including ballet, tap, jazz, hiphop, lyrical, contemporary, acro dance, pre-school creative movement. We believe teaching the culture and origin of each genre is an important part of the training in order to honor the dance roots.
History
Established in 2012.
Fusion Dance Center was transformed in 2012 from a previous studio (Dance Fusion) and has evolved over time into a locally known dance center that trains artists. In 2020 FDC came under new co-management and eventually a new sole owner in 2021. Since then we have placed even more emphasis on the need for mental wellness coaching in kids and fostering a positive atmosphere that allows for healthy self expression in a safe space. We have also had an award-winning competitive team called Imagery for 8 years that regularly showcases our knack for creating artistic pieces that paint a picture.
Meet the Business Owner: Amy B.
Hello! As the owner and director of FDC I welcome all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities to the studio. My vision is to create an inclusive and safe environment for people to learn dance and be part of a community. I place particular emphasis on mental health wellness, especially in the turmoil of the teen years, and encourage expression of emotions through dance. We value diversity and honor the art form and original culture of each dance genre in our education. I have been a dancer all my life (almost a half century!) and am applying both technical and cultural knowledge in my teachings that are colored by my life experience of also being a mom that lends an extra caring for kids wellbeing outside of just dance. I employ a staff of caring teachers who have all grown up learning multiple dance genres and each have their own special teaching niche. We make a great team that provides a safe space for kids to learn, grow, and develop a passion for the dance arts!
