In the fall, she did glass pumpkins and this time it was heart-shaped paperweights for Mother's Day. Spots are limited, so hop to it and register online to guarantee a spot. It was fun to watch others take their turn and see passersby stop to "ooh" and "aah". Cost was $30 - if I'm going to spend money on a gift, why not make it custom and handmade? My creation turned out beautifully - I made it on a Saturday and picked it up at CCA on a Tuesday. You will just have to contact the local artist to find out details about the classes. The customer service is wonderful and they have all local artists contact information at the store. Where: Corner of 6th & Morton - Entrance is the purple door with their logo on it - located on the south side of the building next to the parking lot - this was the former home of Paper Crane Gallery. Workshops: I have taken the Introduction Screen Printing Workshop and it was great. For just $30 you get a 3 hour workshop where they take you through all parts of the process and you end up walking out of there with finished product. They are super helpful and really informative. I don't know if they have an age minimum but I think with a parent 12+ would be fine. I can't wait to take the image carving class. Free Print Times: They have available times where you can come in and utilize their equipment. The fee is super reasonable ($5/hr) and there are people there to help you. That being said, I recommend taking one of the intro classes first. Gallery/Work for Sale: They usually have some items for sale or on display but this really is more of a functioning studio than a traditional gallery space. That being said, if they do have an open house during a gallery walk I highly recommend you check them out! Odd/Ends: There is no air conditioning in the workshop so come prepared with some water, there are bathrooms on-site, and they can work from images both in-hand or those on a flash drive or emailed to them. They have a ramp into the building but I wouldn't put them in the super-accessible category just because so much of the work needs to be done while standing. Parking is on the street or in the lot located to the south side of the building.

We had a 2 hour party for about 14 kids. She had a helper in as well. The studio at the Main squeeze was so spacious and well lit, Kids were placed at a safe distance on each table. She had them start out with decorating goody bags and then introduced tracing the outline, tracing each parts and then gently guiding them towards the painting the colors in. She and her helper did their best to help kids out with the tracing and outlining. She kept the kids very engaged and as the canvas dried she made an air dry clay unicorn horn with them. Of course every 6 year old wants to put various colored crystals on their unicorn horns! As everything was drying she did a small song/dance party for the kids. The goody bags were filled with candies and cute stuff. My daughter loved her birthday party and her friends enjoyed it as well. Highly recommend this place for any kind of art parties and seeing how patient of a teacher she is, if you are inclined towards art classes, she would be a great choice.
