Just bought a new 3 piece suite 2weeks ago. Have some issues with it but unfortunately they are not interested in putting the issues right. I rang and spoke to a male shop worker who was really rude and unhelpful. I have bought all my furniture here for the last 20 years and until this purchase had no issues. But the first time I do the customer after service is terrible. I'm afraid I will have to find somewhere else to buy my furniture because the service is only good if you don't have a problem. 20 years of purchase count for nothing. Feel totally let down and have a poor quality 3 piece suite In response to Peter J comment below I ended the conversation because he was rude and had no customer service skills and was unable to listen without constant interruption. I am now having to pay a reputable upholsterer to put right all the issues with the suite as we didn't want a refund and be left with nothing to sit on over Christmas. We like the style of the suit and as we stated to one of the staff, we wanted a replacement but never mind once I have paid out extra money on what should have been a perfect suit already we will have the suit we wanted and I will definitely go to a reputable company in the future So £225 later after a reputable upholsterer has sorted the 3 piece sold to me by Furniture City, I now have a suite that is okay. Just bought a bed , mattress ,2 double wardrobe and a dressing table and every piece was faulty . When I complained and a rep call to see me I was treated to the worst kind of verbal bullying I have ever encounted , I was made to feel very frightened in my own home because I dared to suggest he replace or refund my money , when told if he was to refund my money he would take off shipping & delivery charge and that it would be very expensive , in other words I could be left with no refund and no furniture . ...... My wife and i purchased a leather three piece suite from Furniture City Halifax in 2010. After two months the leather started splitting between the sections. We were taking excellent care of the suite with the kit we bought from Furniture City but this did not stop the leather from splitting. I contacted Furniture City and told them i was horrified at what was happening to our new suite. Furniture City sent along a so called independent furniture specialist to assess the split. He tried to say some liquid had been spilt on the the settee and then tried to glue the split and cover it over. I told him we were not happy with his excuse as no liquid had been spilt and if it had we are talking about leather which wipes up clean. The middle section of the suite was over stuffed and the left hand end piece was under stuffed. I contacted Furniture City again but was told they wee sticking by what their independent specialist had said and it was up to us to prove there was a fault at manufacturing level. I contacted trading standards and was told they are not a member of the furniture ombudsman so even if we did prove fault, getting it replaced could be a long and expensive process in the courts MY ADICE DONT BUY FROM FURNITURE CITY HALIFAX save your money,time and breath. read more
