A nightmare experience working with Furnace Records. Communication has been poor from the start. They recently brought cutting and plating in-house, and it's been a disaster. We can't even get past the test pressing stage. The test pressings we received were terrible--clearly not inspected, and when we raised concerns, our rep admitted the QC person had been fired. Seriously? I asked if they could have Record Industry handle the cutting and plating--like they used to when I last worked with Furnace--but instead, our rep said the entire project was being transferred to Record Industry. When I asked what role Furnace would play now, I was told they would only package and ship the records that RI presses. On top of that, I now have to place the order directly with Record Industry. Record Industry doesn't offer the same vinyl variants that we already sold for preorder. I placed my original order with Furnace Records back in February 2025, and now it's July 2025 with no resolution in sight. I was warned not to press with Furnace again, and I regret not listening. This process has been stressful, frustrating, and incredibly disappointing. Their quality control and customer service are abysmal. I highly recommend pressing elsewhere. And if you must use Furnace, do yourself a favor and hire an outside engineer for cutting and plating. read more

Consumer Alert - Do not use Furnace Record Pressing. Hands down the worst experience with a pressing plant I have ever had. The first set of test pressings had large amounts of pops and ticks and were rejected. The second set of test pressings didn't show up until SIX MONTHS LATER, were Out-of-Round (off center) and still had all the previous pops and clicks. Furnace Record Pressings now refuses to refund my money, saying the warble sounding pressings with pops and clicks is within their tolerance. The delays alone made me miss the holiday season. The project has now been set back a year. I run a small label and am not an a-hole, I was super patient with Furnace and have never experienced this type of treatment from any supplier. For some reason the excellent pressing plant Pallas in Germany has partnered with Furnace I have apprised them of this situation. I got my vinyl record pressed with furnace and glad I did. Alex R and staff were awesome and super on top of the release. I know most pressing plants are backed up but the turn around time was a lot fast than I anticipated. Most plants can take 4-6 months. After payment, furnace only took 2. While furnace is one of the more pricier pressing plants, between quality product and turnaround time it's worth the money. read more

I wanted to give a shout out to Eric Astor and the crew at Furnace. I've worked with them for quite a while now, and I've only had good experiences. First, they're great with customer service. When I need something, they have always been very responsive. Second, we appreciate the various duplication options for their DVDs, which gives the customers a great deal of flexibility. Let me preface this review by saying I'm extremely skeptical of vendors, in general. Usually, the response I get is an indifferent shrug of the shoulders whenever I have questions on a project or would like updates. Furthermore, one thing I have learned is that many companies are perfectly happy to screw you and sleep well at night. So you can understand that when a friend recommended Furnace MFG for a project with a tight deadline, my expectations weren't high. But, man, did they deliver! They absolutely rocked. First I appreciate the complete honesty of the team assigned to me. They understood that I wanted realistic expectations and not empty promises. If there was even a possibility that something wasn't going to work, I wanted to know so I could set a plan B. They heard me loud and clear. That said, I needed to stick to my plan A, because Plan B wasn't going to be pretty. I had a hard deadline and Furnace understood this and treated me and my project with unbelievable respect. The entire time I worked with them, I felt like I was either their only client or their oldest client. Did they give me quick responses to questions? The Quickest and most thorough! They are experts at working with clients. In past lives, many of these people probably were psychotherapists. Due to complications that were totally out of Furnace MFG's control, at some point, my plan A did not seem logistically possible. That's what I thought, at least. Furnace thought differently! Without saying it, they basically said "Hell no! We're not going to let you down." UNREAL. Maybe I should tell you about the physical product I received. Everything met my expectations -- even exceeded them. The units were perfectly assembled. Disc trays were glued precisely. I just don't get it! Who the hell do they think I am--Frank F%cking Zappa? Why did they treat me so well? I have a funny feeling that these people actually care about doing a great job. Now I just need my record to fly off the shelf, so I can continue to give these guys as much business as possible. I also need about 1000 more friends in the Industry I can recommend them to. read more

Everyone at Furnace Mfg was more then helpful through every step of the way. Very easy to contact and very attentive and always responded to questions in a timely manner. There was never a sense of ambiguity with the final product and they even got finished earlier then they said they would. From what I understand is they press everyone from The Black Keys to Flaming Lips. Even with clientele like that, they still made our record a priority and we never felt pushed aside or made to wait. I would recommend Furnace to anyone looking for duplication services. read more

I was recently badly taken advantage of on several levels in a business deal when I placed a vinyl record order with Furnace Manufacturing. They are the worst vinyl manufacturers I have ever encountered. I paid them $7000.00 for 2000 colored vinyl records with full color gatefold covers. They eventually delivered 1644 records with covers and 130 more records without covers. Furnace has an over/under final printing/pressing numbers policy of 10% leeway which clients must agree to. I agreed but Furnace was 18% under on my order and Furnace pocketed the difference instead of returning it to me. Which is actually stealing outright from me $1620.00. They were paid on September 17, 2012 in full with a $7000.00 cashiers check and the order was placed on November 28, 2012. The 7 weeks turnaround time I was promised was a 5 month wait before anything was even pressed. Finally on delivery day March 1 2013 all I was given was one record without any cover. My sales rep Ali Miller came out from the back warehouse with one record only in her hands without a cover. She said she was sorry but there were too many records piled on skids to reach any of ours but she had seen them and they look great not to worry, so here's this one and the rest would follow tomorrow. There were none of my records there and nothing followed the next day. It took 2 weeks more before I saw a cover or a second copy and then only half the pressing arrived. It was two months later in May 2013 when we finally got our 7 week order from November finally completely delivered 7 months later instead. Furnace has never admitted pressing it from the wrong test pressing but they certainly did according to myself and everyone else who worked on this record.. Having written, recorded and mixed it and having heard it over 500 times, I am very sure that they did press it from the wrong test pressing. Furnace also decided against my choices what half of the 6 colors of the colored vinyl would be regardless of verified color choices well known. I accept the 2 different colors of green neither of which I chose but my other sales rep David Maunder claimed he saw an Orange one in the back and it looked "awesome" as he described it. There were never any of the Orange ones I chose anywhere. They are all as Red as Red can be. More disturbing was both David Maunder and Ali Miller sent me numerous emails which I still have guaranteeing my masters return which never happened no matter how many times I kept asking. They both kept assuring me this would be done right up till the final delivery was made. After the final delivery was made Ali Miller then told me (despite my having many emails of her stating the opposite) that she has never returned anyones master. That she has never heard of anyone asking for a master to be returned and that I was asking for something unreasonable and unheard of. I sadly made the terrible mistake of accepting what was described to me as compensation offerings from Furnace (in writing but not amended onto the contract) that they then did not honor. Big mistake on my part accepting their free offers. When the final half of the pressing arrived, Ali Miller itemized everything she had previously offered me for free to try to stretch the final figure from 18% under down into the range of their 10% overage /underage clause. The bulk of this immoral adjustment was the two free shipping offers. In the end both shipping costs weren't free at all and were itemized at $500.00 each. I live only 22 miles from Furnace and was scheduled to pick it up in person instead, which they said would cost me $350.00 in state sales tax. I could have picked it up that day both times. The first time David Maunder delivered it in his own personal vehicle, short of records that were never found but I was charged for anyway. Ali insisted I let her delivery guy drive it over the second time. It was loaded on that truck for 5 days before I got it. I paid $1000 to have a 22 mile only delivery they insisted on when it could have been picked up for $350.00. It wasn't over yet! Then the Furnace company owner Eric Astor went on to my bands facebook page and left a long lengthy explanation of how gracious Furnace was to even work with a band that couldn't properly afford to even do a full pressing and so everything I claim I was shorted was fairly within their 10% overage underage clause to deny me, regardless of the fact that it is still 18% under not 10%. Eric Astor never addressed my unreturned masters publicly but did go on to state that I was a disturbed difficult person that no other company would ever work with and this is the thanks Furnace gets etc. Bottom line $7000.00 is supposed to buy you 2000 records at Furnace. It did not in my case despite that's what I paid them. I have dozens of emails from Furnace proving every single claim I am making here today. read more
