With the epidemic, the wait for furniture items is much longer than normal and there can be delays. They made a very good estimate of when the furniture items would be made available. They had regular email updates regarding whether the item was in or not (doesn't sound like a big deal, but much better than other places where you have to keep track of when they say it, "might be in," and then continuously call to see if it came, only to be told there is another delay). 4. The item I purchased, a small kitchen tablet set, came on time and was of good quality for the price. The only thing slightly annoying was that some of the reps didn't have their masks on covering their face (They might want to look into this because I'm guessing a lot of people don't care, but a good segment of customers will just turn around and leave if they see this - we were looking for an accent cabinet that they didn't have, if they had it but the rep wasn't wearing their mask, we would have left rather than work with that person).

The salesman (I apologize I can't remember his name) did a wonderful job showing us around all the different kinds of mattresses at different price points and was extremely patient with us. He showed us the stuff they had on special offer and what kinds of deals he could work with us on. We ended up deciding on a mattress then and there, and got our new mattress delivered two days later. *Note: If you want to keep your old mattress be VERY clear to the delivery drivers. Without asking, they took my old mattress and slashed a huge, almost 3ft gash in the bottom of my pristine white mattress. The mattress itself was perfectly fine and I had intended on keeping it, but they just assumed for some reason that I didn't want it. The salesman at the mattress store informed me that they offer a free mattress removal service, which I adamently declined. Apparently this does not get translated to the delivery drivers, so just make sure you let them know. Now with all that being said, after I calledthe mattress store back, they replaced my now damaged mattress with a brand new one. Their customer service is amazing and they handled the situation quickly and efficiently. Had a full ashtray, so apparently a routine thing for him in the store. Fast forward several weeks and our original two week delivery window kept getting pushed out. After multiple phone calls, we finally had a delivery date. The delivery guys took the old bed, put it on their truck, and set up the new bed. As they were cleaning up, we noticed multiple stains at the foot of the mattress, possibly from shoes. Then we took a harder look and realized the sides of the mattress were frayed and dirty. Checked the tag and the mattress was manufactured two years prior! We bought a new mattress, not a showroom model or a used one. Stopped the delivery guys from leaving, took photos of what we saw on the mattress, had our old bed brought back up and set up with the old frame, and called the warehouse. The guy who answered said they didn't have the mattress we ordered, and didn't know when they would receive it, so they gave us this one. In other words, they KNEW the mattress that was delivered was used and tried to pass it off as brand new. Check reviews for other franchise stores for American Mattress. The scam is common. When you call them out on it, they say they got rid of your old bed, and offer a discount on the used one that was delivered to persuade you to keep it. One star because when I explained to the salesman that a refund was needed because we lost faith in their warehouse, he immediately refunded over $2K. He was apologetic but didn't seem at all surprised. We ended up buying a new mattress from Macys, which delivered the product we ordered, new not used, and delivered when they said they would.

Now, I spend time researching smaller stores who have an expertise in a specific area of the product I am looking for. Walking into Chicago Luxury Beds at 440 North Wells Street in Chicago, IL was a breath of fresh air and a positive change of pace for me. I was immediately greeted by Robert who epitomizes what we want from others when we walk into a place of business. He was knowledgeable about the products in the store while being warm and caring as well. Robert was articulate with a warm demeanor and no high pressure sales. Henry soon joined our conversation as I had many questions about the products and services. Both of these men spent time with me to ensure I was selecting exactly what I was hoping to buy. The selection offered was extensive so finding the exact match to what I was looking for took a great deal of time but both Robert and Henry seem to enjoy spending this time with me. The staff were very helpful, gave us time to try each bed, explained the options and kept us updated on the delivery. The delivery team were great, again keeping us informed of the delivery time. They took care in bringing the bed up to the 2nd floor, even washed their hands before they unwrapped the bed so as not to get it dirty. Lastly, there was one item missing from the delivery, but the shop had it sent over in just over an hour, which was excellent.

Three months later (August of 2025) we chose Quality Sleep Shop's (QSS) articulated bed frame and matched a "firm" mattress to it. However, we were not completely satisfied. We thought we might get accustomed to it but never did! So in February of 2026 we inquired as to whether there was any way to fix the problem. Here's when we learned our folly. In order for the mattress to conform to the articulation of the new frame, the mattress (by design) cannot contain the perimeter wire found on "normal" mattresses. This is when (and where) QSS excelled with customer service. On the condition that our new (6 month old) mattress had not been damaged or soiled in the interim, for a nominal fee (labor and transportation) the QSS picked up the mattress disassembled it to the extent that they could replace the TOP cushioning with a firmer product, reassembled it, and reinstalled it - ALL on the very same day! We dare you to imagine another company making the same commodity to match such service. Needless to say - we're very happy and satisfied - Thank you Quality Sleep Shop!

When I went in, I first found out their delivery availability and had to move fast (like 15 min fast) to secure a same day delivery spot. With the horrible "sleep" on the air mattress in the back of my mind, I was a no-nonsense shopper. I told them what we had before, our sleep habits, our budget, and asked to try the 3 most comparable beds. Luis was on his A-game and met the challenge well. There was no pressure to buy the most expensive option or increase the budget as I've experienced in the past. Luis totally respected our budget which I appreciated. I was a bit on the fence of trying the newer hybrid memory foam bed and the traditional spring bed especially since I was bed shopping sans husband. His assurance that we could exchange the bed within 120 days was comforting. It helped us go the Beautyrest Alcove Hybrid which we love. Luis also told me to check in on yelp for a discount. Best of all he was able to get it delivered same day. Delivery was timely as promised and quick. While it was a hectic circumstance which led to the new bed, we are very happy with the change and new mattress. I highly recommend shopping here.
