The pub is beautiful and cosy, the landlady was kind and cheerful and the food.....oh god, the food! We both had a starter of pigeon, not something you usually see on a pub menu and it was superbly cooked and tasted amazing. For my main I chose the steak burger with chips and onion rings, the burger was big, flavoursome and juicy and the touch I like is that the tomato ketchup on table was all homemade, not from a bottle! We will certainly come back to this awesome place if we are ever near the area again because it was outstanding!!

My steak was cooked perfectly and the nice tapas platter looked heavenly while my friend with the fish nearly liked the plate clean. We chose to skip desserts and finished off our beers. I have been to this pub a number of times, seven or eight times, when on holiday around the area…read morefor the last six years. Could be great but each time I have visited it seems a work in progress. Apart from the people who are actually holidaying in the very immediate vicinity, it is impossible to happen upon it as it is, as far as I can see, very difficult to find from the main road from Wroxham to Hoveton; it was my brother i law who was staying a few yards away that told me of it and it took me a while to find it. The first time I went there, in 2011, there was a large amount of beers displayed, the last time 2015 very few and just as well as with the footfall I saw, they would have thrown a lot away. I was there at a time of day when the Wroxham hotel bar and the Kings head would be heaving. I can only think that it is the lack of accessibility that holds it back. the only way I can see that you can get to it is approach the inside Marina which looks private, behind the boat workshops and walk past the holiday letting agents offices. I can see no way to it from the North end of the bridge as all the approaches are cut off by water. Shame; could be good as this area could do with another decent pub. LC 09 2015
