I was initially really excited about this company as you could invest in individual buildings. Unfortunately, that changed many years ago (five?) and now it's pretty similar to a REIT. At the time they changed I didn't know what it would be like, so I invested a little into each of the two funds available. They claimed returns that beat the stock market, which obviously isn't close to possible now, but I'm not sure it even happened when the stock market returns were their normal averages. I don't think the company is bad, although it feels their owners just want to manage money and get fees from buying, owning, and selling, rather than being high performers. I've definitely experienced better. This email I received this morning demonstrates how much they only care about fees:
"You previously elected to automatically reinvest your dividends into the same fund from which they were issued. At this time, we are no longer able to support this dividend reinvestment option.
As a result, we've disabled dividend reinvestment for your account and any future dividends will be sent to your primary bank account.
We do support dividend reinvestment through our investment plans managed by Fundrise Advisors. If you'd like to have your future dividends automatically reinvested, you'll need to become a client of Fundrise Advisors by upgrading your account and selecting an investment plan." read more
