Long time member of this "hidden gem" (one of its marketing taglines) tucked away in Glenview…read more Think of Valley Lo as a low/no-pretense country club that is SUPER family friendly and even family ORIENTED. Wonderful dining -- casual attire but a nice menu; phenomenal service, and plenty of TVs and an activity room available to keep kids occupied. Tennis. Paddle tennis (one of the biggest programs in the US apparently, with a relatively recently rebuilt paddle hut that is spacious, well appointed, and has a regular bartender). A well appointed and maintained fitness center with personal training, classes, massage, and all of what you'd expect at a fitness club. A four lane 25-yard swimming pool that is surprisingly underutilized much of the time...and also features a kids' swim team that has become competitive among the North Shore programs. 18 holes of par 3 golf -- fun, family friendly, and again, without the pretense or expense of a "big time" golf club...and still with leagues, lessons, and events. The real showpieces of the Club, though, are the beach and lake open from Memorial Day through Labor Day (sometimes a little earlier and a little later depending upon weather). Sailing. Kayaks. Pedal boats. Paddle boarding. Swimming (some triathletes train by swimming around the lake -- it's about a mile around). Catch and release fishing (mostly for the kids). An adults-only area. A super casual beach cafe. Unsurprisingly, servers who'll deliver soft and adult beverages to your chair. A recently launched outdoor bar that complements the outdoor dining, weather permitting, in the warm weather, with lovely views of the lake and surrounding areas. Along with that, there are myriad family oriented and adults-only events, from bingo nights (really -- and they're a riot) to a "turn back the clock" New Year's Eve party where "midnight" is nine pm to the expected holiday events (gingerbread houses, caroling dinners, St. Pat's, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.). Breathtakingly good and popular 4th of July fireworks (usually on the 3rd) on the back nine of the golf course -- this typically draws over 1000 people and, along with many of the other events, features kids' activities like games, small rides, face paining, etc. Among the biggest draws is the youth sports camp which is as brilliant as it is well executed. Drop the kids in the morning; pick up in the afternoon. They get exposure to a variety of activities and sports and get fed. Counselors tend to be teenagers who are well trained and lead the events; the camp is run by a seasoned professional whose approach is to sneak in ideas of character and sportsmanship along the way. The clubhouse and grounds (golf course, beachfront) are great spots for a wide variety of events including corporate outings, family parties, prom dinners/photos, and weddings. Through the years, Valley Lo has maintained itself well and made significant investments to keep up and improve its clubhouse, athletic center, paddle and pickleball facilities, and now golf course. It's welcoming and inclusive -- while it is a private club that requires sponsors, it's not a draconian and super selective process like some country clubs, and tends to welcome all comers. Economics are considerably more attractive than big time golf clubs as well. We've been members for more than 15 years, raised our kids here, and have come to know and love the team ("staff" always seems demeaning to this reviewer) and the membership. If you're not a swanky golf club person but prefer something less stuffy and more fun and family oriented, Valley Lo should seriously be on your list to check out.

They graciously accommodated our large group in a quieter space where we could actually talk and enjoy each other's company up and down the table -- something that made the evening feel even more special. The food was incredible, as always, and the wine recommendation paired with our meal was so good it deserves its own review. But the real highlight of the night was our waiter, Mario. He made the entire evening genuinely feel like a celebration. His recommendations never missed, he was warm and engaging throughout the meal, and he somehow even managed to get our tired, aloof teenagers laughing and opening up by the end of dinner. That kind of hospitality is rare and deserves recognition.

The cuisine is modern and playful and focuses on local ingredients. I was intrigued by, but did not order, the Something from Land or Air or Something from Water, which I take to mean the chef prepares something fresh, local and what is tastiest for the season. We shared the Warm Hand Made Bread Service (creme fraiche goats butter, roasted pecan hummus and matcha sesame butter) and Crispy Mushrooms (dusted with matcha, sesame togarashi black garlic aioli) from the Small or Snacky section. I had the Inovasi burger (1/3 lb CDK Farms beef) and my companions had the Grilled Ocean Raised Salmon. My burger had a good flavor but they cooked it well done instead of medium. Fries were good. Friends enjoyed their salmon.

First of all, Brenda and Carrie are very accommodating and responsive, they assisted us with all our needs and requests. The space is beautifully curated -- complete, neat, updated, well-equipped and not to forget , the minimalist vibes , was all I was looking for. I am so pleased with our overall experience and my guests loved every single detail of the venue. If you are looking for a venue that can be customized, reasonable price and intimate, I definitely recommend trying out this space. We all had a great time and I absolutely had a perfect 30th birthday party. Thank you so much LOFT 329 for allowing me to celebrate in your beautiful space.

It is an absolutely stunning space. Many of my guests walked in and could not stop remarking how great the place was. It is also conveniently located right next to the Highwood Metra, so my guests who came from Chicago without a car could easily come. The space is super flexible regarding vendors and decorating. Carrie, who was our main contact, was communicative and responsive! We found Loft 329 after needing to change the venue last minute from my original one. From day one of reaching out, Carrie was quick to respond, she managed to fit my mother in for a quick tour and booking was super easy. She even went out of her way to try to help us find a rental for some tables and chairs. Definitely do not pass this space up if you're looking for an affordable, flexible and gorgeous event space!

The venue is beautiful, historic, and well-maintained, yet the pricing and contract requirements are completely reasonable and fair. We felt comfortable and at home from that very first visit. We also found an excellent caterer (Catered by Design) from their preferred catering list. Monique was a dream to work with--so organized and punctual yet laid-back and flexible. We received so many compliments on the venue from our guests. While we opted to have both our ceremony and reception indoors, Monique allowed us to open up the lawn and patio to guests for cocktail hour, which was absolutely stunning and a huge hit. I would recommend Kenilworth to anyone looking for a wedding venue!

It's majestic and stunning, esp with the sun shining through. 3) It's only 6 blocks from Lake Michigan! We took advantage of this for our wedding photos. 4) The cozy fireplace inside. 5) It's located right off the Metra... and right around the corner from Homer's Ice Cream. We found a hidden gem in the KC and are so glad we found it for our wedding ceremony and reception. Brittany provided a thorough tour when we first visited the space, and manager Kris was really responsive to my needs, especially in the week before the big day. And lastly, major props to Nick, who held the fort down on the night of the wedding and ensured everything went smoothly! P.S. It's said the interior can hold a party of 200, but that would be really cramped. We had 134 and filled the space pretty fully (without tables being pushed into the front lobby area).

I cant say it was delicious, but there was enough that you weren't hungry, but its nothing to rave about. The service was good, minus the fact that the stuff didn't know the menu. They may ask "Damn, that's a lot of food and booze." and you say, "Yes, indulge!" Then the weirdo provocative russian music videos start playing on the tv's while everyone's drinking tea and eating marinated herring. Shortly after, the live band is unveiled by a dark satin curtain while loud 80's russian ballads are sung by 40-year-old women wearing sunglasses and all leather. Then music plays and disco balls come out and gleam like the sun, so you may need to do more explaining of russian party culture. It's basically like a low budget wedding that's actually a brunch. Overall, not a bad experience.

Fortunately, the building is very distinct and is easy to spot. Inside the building the lobby is nice and big with two entrances to main event room. The main event room is large and perfect for a wedding, reunion, party, or a wrestling match. The lighting had a blue hue to it and I had trouble hearing anything over the public address system. The bathrooms are nice is not a bit small for the capacity that could be there. Overall, I had a really nice time and would attend another event at Studio One Events.

We had cocktail hour in the lobby area when you first walked in and the kids were downstairs for their cocktails and speeches. We then walked into a spacious room where the party (dancing, food stations, photo booth etc) took place. The coolest thing about this venue is that it has a ton of screens on the walls that you can use to display a logo, animations, live stream what's happening on the dance floor (good way for me to spy on my daughter this past weekend :)). It was also the best viewing of a photo montage I've seen thanks to all the screens. The catering this weekend was from Marchellos (for appetizers, adult buffet and kids plated meals) so I do believe you you have to bring in our own food. I'm not sure if you have to rent tables/chairs, which I know from planning events, can be pricey so that would be a good question to ask if considering. While they didn't have valet at the event we attended there is a large parking garage next to it for 300 cars. It was a great spot for the celebration we attended this weekend so definitely worth checking out if looking for something in the North Shore.
