I went here to get my ski boots fixed because they were bothering me. Seemed simple enough. Not…read moreso much. The boots I bought in the US are adjustable--the ankle, calf and toe areas. After one of the staff laughed repeatedly at my husband and me for thinking we could adjust the boot--for the record, you can; I had it done at home and I did it back at the hotel--the guy disappeared with my boot for at least 15 mins. He never said what he was going to do, where he was going, or when he'd come back. Fifteen minutes later, he appears. The boot fit better, but j still have no idea what he did. This is a business? Are you shitting me?

Two of my mates bought their boots there and had them fitted which meant going back almost daily. I rented skis with them. The price for the latter is a bit steep and there seems to be a cartel going on in St Anton as all the stores have the same price. However the equipment available was top notch well maintained and they were happy to let me try 5 different skis until I found a pair I loved.

Strolz is to this day the leading brand in German-speaking countries for hand-made ski boots. Strolz is also the place to come year-round for street wear, traditional Tracht, skiing and outdoor gear. In addition, there is an extensive children's department and locally-made housewares selection. The main store is in downtown Lech. In winter, the Strolz family runs a ski rental shop across the street. There is also a smaller branch in Zürs. Strolz is pricy, even for Lech-Zürs, but if you're looking for selection, impeccable service and quality merchandize this is the place.

Had to leave day and a half early, refused to give me any discount, just pocketed my money for the…read moreunused days and took the skis off me to rent again. I was surprised as the guys who had originally rented me the skis had been so nice. I won't return and as a regular St Anton visitor it's their loss in the long run.
