Around since 1977, HP Tops is your town t-shirt printing shop that has a space packed with garments and clothing blanks for all your printing needs...whether a Bar/Bat Mitzvah giveaway, a customized gift, or shirt for camp, this is your one stop shop. We needed a special shirt made, a simple black t-shirt with some lettering on it. We walked in, told the owner what we wanted, he arranged the letters perfectly on the heat press, and did the shirt on the spot in less than 15 minutes. All in all the total came to $21. Shirt cost + $.50 per letter. They have an online ordering system, but we were told it's better to come in to make sure it turns out okay. I personally suggest going in, because the customer service is off-the-charts fantastic, and the shop is a fun visit...even if you just want to browse and drum up a conversation. I should have made them my self and I am not a particularly great seamstress. I had to wait weeks more to have them redone. I paid top dollar for professional window treatments. What a waste of time. I also had pleated shades hung behind the curtains and now they are not easy to push back up. They will probably not last a year, and I also paid top dollar for those. Once they die I will go to Lowe's and buy off the shelf. Don't waste your time or money on Calico's products. I am very unhappy with the outcome.

"Fastsigns" seems very appropriate - they were FAST indeed! So, I goofed... I thought I had two…read moreweeks to get a few banners printed for an upcoming trade show - NOPE. The show is in two days, and the client needs it at least a day before. Oops. Enter Fastsigns in Northbrook. I was able to whip together the artwork in just a few hours, and my assistant started calling around to see who could produce several full-color glossy banners in under 24 hours. Three local printers could do it in time, and Fastsigns was the most reasonably priced (they didn't have a big rush-charge like the others). I emailed the actual production Illustrator CS3 artwork - no need to output to PDF or EPS with text converted to outlines - and that was that. They had no problems with fonts, they had no problems with CMYK colorspace, they understood exactly where we needed grommets, and didn't need any further input from us. We had the virtual proof in less than a half hour, and they were in production as soon as they got approval. The signs we got were very good quality for the price. The color was rich, the coverage was excellent, there banner was precisely finished within 2mm on all sides (they were being fit over a hanging display board), and the material was decent quality. We got exactly what we wanted, we got it quickly, and we didn't have to pay through the nose. Fastsigns is now our go-to when we need quick turn-around on a banner or sign.
