Lots to look at!…read more They have a lot of modernized 'art' and just fun, useful things all packed in. A few souvenir 'Sioux Falls' items but not a lot. What caught my eye? A bust of 'David' that is actually a planter. I felt since there is a David in town and I have seen the real one, it was time for me to add one to my art/souvenir collection. They were super nice to pack it for my continued roast trip and it successfully made it home in one piece! One oddity- I asked the guy behind the counter about the towns David and he told me a false narrative. Buy the goods not their stories.

Neat shop that is larger than it appears. Tons of knickknacks and goodies to view/read/smell/try…read moreon/ etc. There's a vintage section at the back - it's almost like walking through a museum. You can't touch it, but it's cool to see. I love the cards selection there. So many! (I keep the post office in service and actually write people the old fashioned way.) ^_^ Staff are friendly and can help you check out / find what you seek, if anything. If it's cold and wet outside, definitely a cool place to hide and be found! ;) Happy shops!

I love supporting local businesses, especially when it comes to a bookstore. There is something to…read morewalking into a place filled with books, there is a warm sensation that fills me & makes me happy. Independent bookstores especially make me light up. The layout, the selection, the people working the counter, it is all just a great experience. Now, smaller bookstores like this one tend to have smaller selections, but the Book Vine is more than happy to special order anything you would like. They keep those special orders behind the counter with your name on it. The book Vine is so aptly named as it not only sells books, one can also pick up a lovely bottle of wine as well. They have a special (closed doored) area of the shop dedicated specifically for grapes masquerading around as wine. So, you can ideally plan a lovely evening of books & drinking something I know you Yelpers enjoy. The shop itself is split up into two levels, 1st floor has books, wine, magazines, and also the checkout counter. 2nd level, has comfy chairs to sit and read the used books that are stored up there. It is a great place to go and relax. I would imagine that this is a great place for a book club to have its regular meetings as well. So, if you are ever in this neck of the woods give the Book Vine a try.

You know what is uncool? A cashier shaming you for your reading choices. You don't get to say the…read morephrase "we don't judge here" and be automatically cleared to openly judge and make accusing, degrading comments despite a customer's clear discomfort. Going to the bookstore is a fun, rare treat, one that is ruined when I had to sit in my car and cry it out at the end. Do better. Just because you don't like the book doesn't mean someone else doesn't get to try it for themselves. Guess I will return to purchasing all my books online from other retailers.
