Creative Woodwork: Horrible…read more Our experience with Creative Woodwork was horrible. We have used many bespoke suppliers in the past, but unlike them Creative Woodwork (CW) let us down badly. The list of problems we encountered with them is too long to enumerate, but in general the firm suffers from terrible communication and faulty delegation of portions of their work to other suppliers who, in our case, did a really bad job, reflecting negatively on CW and it's owner. Without telling us, CW outsourced the installation two of our three of our units to another firm who not only failed to install our units properly, damaged them in ways that are beyond repair. Hence we are left with an imperfect product, even after months of remedial repair. As of now, our units are "nearly new" not new and contain unrepairable flaws. At first, the owner failed to report to us that there were any problems. He did not tell us he had subcontracted the installation work. Only when we pressed did he admit remedial needed to be done. He then sent people in who often showed up late and did not know what they were meant to be repairing showing clearly the dodgy communication between owner and client and owner and employees. CW has offered us a tiny discount on their final bill, but it certainly does not compensate us for not having the product for which we contracted, the time and effort required to get the remedial work done and the angst we suffered due to poor communication and denial of responsibility. Avoid this supplier at all costs.,

After going around the internet and big names for fitted wardrobes and being give horrendously…read moreexpensive prices we were about to give up when a friend of ours recommended Creative Woodwork. We got them to design, build and install two fitted wardrobes with slanted walls and an understairs storage (two massive drawers). We were pleased with the price / quality combination as well as speed of work. Took them 2-3 weeks from order to installation. The quality of the installation is great, and the material used brings confidence in the longevity of the installation which is what you want when you install a fitted wardrobe that you want to keep -kind of- forever. I have recommended CW to all my neighbours.

We've had bad experiences of builders and decoraters in the past and wanted someone we could trust to make and fit them without the usual mess and hassle . I'm still amazed at how easy they made it seem -they arrived on time ,knew exactly what they were doing and made totally solid,perfectly fitting shelves AND left absolutely no dirt and mess ( that's a first! ) We are planning to have music/storage units fitted nextand can't think of anyone we would rather use . We had fitted wardrobes and shelves built in our bedroom and they look fabulous. It was great to see not 1 or 2 dingy photos of previous work but 2 whole portfolios of clear bright photos of the whole range of work Custom Carpentry carries out. Tristan filled us with confidence, from the start; he paid great attention to what we said we wanted, made drawings and discussed every detail with us until he was sure we were happy. Valentine and Jan who built the wardrobes and shelves and then painted them were punctual, polite and skilled. Plus; there was no mess left behind! We cannot recommend Tristan highly enough. Unreliable and unprofessional…read more We booked Dan to carry out a straightforward bay window refurbishment (Which I have since had to do myself). From beginning to end we received nothing but delays, excuses, no shows, pestering for keys and changes of plans. As soon as we payed the deposit for the works he announced he had a dog with separation anxiety which he had no choice but to bring along (Despite having been told that we didn't want a dog in our house). This dog was then the catalyst for the barrage of plan changes and no shows. He brought this dog into our friends home on a previous job, same story, he was told the dog was not welcome and as soon as the deposit was paid, separation anxiety revealed and he brought the dog anyway. I do not see the need to recount the specifics of our disappointing experience in their entirety but I recommend avoiding this trades person as he obviously takes on far more jobs than he can handle at any one time.

All seemed fine…read moreuntil they all pretty much collapsed within the space of a week and have now left huge holes in my kitchen walls! I naturally emailed and called to try and get the problem fixed but I unfortunately I had no response or received any explanation. He came from recommendation of a friend of a friend but I won't be using his shoddy services again! One to avoid and thankfully I have a professional who has since rectified everything!
