I do not write up a negative unless the circumstances warrant and this is such a circumstance. Four in our party reserved 2 rooms with bath. Both our driver and us tried calling Fuchsia to say we would be late in arriving, NO RESPONSE BACK. We arrive, our driver assists with the bags along with Patrick, owner. Patrick waits until driver leaves before informing us that ONE of the rooms has a plumbing issue and putting ALL of us into another larger room?? Thinking we have larger room PLUS our 2nd room was not the case. Both our rooms were booked to others that were PAID FOR IN ADVANCE. He schlepped us into a large room with ONE bath so officially he is booked solid for the night, all 9 rooms. Funny, that I counted 9 cars in parking lot, with our van as one. Meaning, Patrick new what he was doing and thought 4 women can be herded together. Our driver left so what are they going to do, leave?
If the above didn't annoy us, the following did:
1. One in the group is a plumber and could have looked at the issue, which Patrick did a gig when we mentioned.
2. He left in our room old Easter egg candies and chocolate bar. Insulting is what it was. The 11 year old made the comment on buying us off with cheap candy. The 70 years old, me, said good Irish Whiskey would have appeased me nicely for that moment.
3. The next day, when my friend, the plumber who booked the rooms, tried to talk to him about customer service and crediting us for 1 room, Patrick continued the gig.
4. All rooms booked and yet, sign in room to call for hot water. Rooms booked fool, don't make us beg for hot water. Turn it on for all rooms to be available, while room is booked.
Lesson learned:
A. If no response to calls, there will be an issue when arriving. We should have asked for refund on the spot and gone next door or across the street for there are lovely B&B's/hotels up and down the street, that were vacant.
B.Looks are deceiving. The Fuchsia House is pretty but Patrick did not exhibit honesty and in his customer service. read more
