I didn't get to try a lot of their products but what I did try, I liked. It's a cute little place to come and get your yogurt/milk and cookies fix. You can't really go wrong with buying anything here from the looks of it and from what I've tried. Everything is cheap, considering how it's in the middle of a touristy area. The cashier (owner of that particular store?) seemed really nice as well, like a-small-town-store-owner-that-she-is-nice, but doesn't speak any English. So.. brush up on your Spanish before coming in.

They usually have a mother yeast for breads that's there for generations. We had an apartment in Vic so I went daily to various bakeries around us and there were many to choose from - most of the bakeries also sold great coffees. I got breads for breakfast daily and returned at lunch daily for different breads for lunch. Home bakeries are real hard work: bakers wake literally in the middle of the night almost every night, to mix, roll, knead, weigh, rest, re roll, bake, cool and they'll have a whole days worth of work done before their bakery even opens. These places are a key not only to good, fresh, quality healthy food at fair prices but they are the antithesis of the conglomerates that care only for as much money they can grab and if it means using crap ingredients and chemical preservatives they'll do it in a heart beat.

First, they have a great outdoor seating area on the square. Second, the service was attentive and friendly. Finally, the food. Everything was delicious. The gazpacho was the best I've ever had. The cuttlefish was unbelievably tender. The mussels were huge but delicious and tender. The chicken and beef were perfectly cooked. Not a single complaint.

Having said that, the wine we tasted was quite good as well. This is estate wine where all the grapes are from the vineyards that surround the castle. As these grapes are only found in Spain and the estate does not ship outside of the country, this tasting experience offers foreigners a unique opportunity to taste wines you will not find anywhere else but here. Nice! Being a bit of a wine snob I am always looking for opportunities like this and this and Oller del Mas definitely fit the bill, castle and all!!
