Just picked up my new framing project. It's occurred to me that I've never acknowledged what great work they've done for me over the years. As I look around my office there are no less than 6 framed pictures they've so masterfully completed. There at least as many at home. Each and every time Alexa has planned out the job, and guided me when I should spend the money, and when I should save it. Honestly, professionalism, and value. Great combination! They have two locations, one in Philly, and another in my local, Montgomeryville PA. Highly recommend checking them out! read more

On line it said they were open. Pulled in parking lot and they had flashing open sign but were closed. I left work 15 minutes early to be here before they closed with two peices to be framed. What a waste of time and gas. Cheryl read more

I've had multiple pieces of art framed here over the years; I have always appreciated Alexa's artistic eye and her recommendations, and my art has always been beautifully framed. Recently I had Frugal Frames frame a series of paintings I had bought in Europe. They were beautifully framed as usual, and when I picked them up I lamented to Alexa that because I have no eye for design, I was dreading figuring out how to hang them in a gallery wall format. Alexa kindly offered to help me arrange them, and thanks to her artistic eye, the gallery walls look wonderful! I'll happily hire her again and recommend her to anyone who lacks an eye for design! read more

Beautiful work! Nice owners with great artistic taste. I couldn't be happier with my pieces. Highly recommend. Thank you.

I have been collecting concert posters since college but without a time term place to put them kept them in their tubes for years. After moving into a house with my wife I decided it was time to frame them and hang them up on the wall so I could actually enjoy them. I started looking online for framing options and saw some people had done the Michael's personal framing route while others had gone to a frame shop. I had a lot of posters (19!) that I wanted framed. I went to one frame shop and they tried to push me towards aluminum frames that I thought looked cheap and wanted an arm and a leg for any mat board. I kept looking and saw frugal frames had good reviews and wanted to give a try. I went in and Alexa was great in working with me. She asked me what I had in mind and gave her feedback and showed me options that she recommended that I hadn't even thought about. She worked with me on pricing that fit my budget while creating an amazing look for all of my posters. We would lay them out one at a time and go over mat color options to really make them pop. I'm very happy with the outcome and am looking forward to going back to get more framed! read more

We've had a few paintings/collectables framed by Frugal Frames over the past 6 years. They perform excellent work. We have tried getting our pieces framed at the larger chain stores, but they were not comparable in price or quality to Frugal Frames. Alexa is the best at choosing matting and frame styles that match the piece being framed. read more

I have accumulated many certificates and other items worthy of framing over a career of almost 20 years in the Army. I took a couple pieces in and Alexa immediately made me feel at ease as she focused solely on me and my style. Through a unique system, she was able to walk me through the various style and color options available while she developed a sense of my personal preferences. The end result was a beautiful framed product that was far better than anything I could pick out myself and that helped tie together many different styles of decoration that we have in the same room. All this was provided at a very reasonable price and delivered in only a week! My only regret is that I didn't visit her sooner. This is a fantastic locally owned company. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have taken several pieces to Alexa to have framed over the past few years. I honestly cannot say enough great things about her and Frugal Frames. Alexa has a wonderful eye to help select the best frame and matting to pull the colors out of my embroidery work. She takes the time to determine where the picture will be hung and what the decorating style is while making the best suggestions. She is extremely patient as I can be very indecisive. I just picked up another sampler and cannot be more pleased with how it turned out! I would highly recommend and encourage anyone to trust them with your framing needs. You will not regret it! read more

I have been coming to Alexa and Mark at Frugal Frames for 10+ years, and would never consider taking my pieces anywhere else! Alexa has a fine eye and is a wizard at examining the piece, thoughtfully listening to my framing goals/objectives and assembling an array of choices that are perfect and sometimes difficult to choose among. Time is no object - she makes you feel like you and your art piece/document/photo, etc. are the most important thing in the world at that moment. She isn't happy until you are thrilled with your choice, and her execution of creating the perfect frame has been spot on! From vintage blueprints of our home, to diplomas, to art from my artist-son, to pieces we've acquired on our travels - I trust Frugal Frames will always "wow" me with the final product. And they do! read more

Alexa created a masterpiece out of a woven banner sent from relatives overseas for my wedding. It is truly stunning and so far has awed my family.  I'm so happy it will be protected for decades to come, and will be a family heirloom.  The staff at Frugal Frames are professional, down to earth, helpful, and creative. They took a difficult piece and helped to fit the frame job within a budget. I will be back the next time I need professional framing! read more

Frugal Frames - The challenges: get it in a frame of 60", hand stitch the piece down, get the tassels to stay put. Awesome job! - Framing Near Me - Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania

I don't think it's necessary to write a review for good service, if you're in business good service should be your mantra. However, I am compelled to write about my experience with Frugal Frames. I walked into the quaint shop and was greeted by the warmest individual, Alexa. She was knowledgeable, informative and welcoming. Aside from that the shop was an array of interesting pictures both prints and originals for sale. I can't tell you how impressed I was with the art, let alone her great assortment of frames for sale. Buying art/frames isn't something you have to have, but if you do, don't miss this great little shop that is the best and beats the cold indifference of the chain shops. Go there, you won't be disappointed. read more

Exceptional quality and service at a reasonable price...who could ask for more? Frugal Frames has been doing all of my framing for around 20 years, first on Pine street and now in Montgomeryville (I was so thrilled they followed me out to the suburbs!) I've looked around, but always come back. The owners/artists Alexa and Mark are both extremely talented, warm people. They each have an excellent eye for color and a knack for picking matting and a frame that brings out the best in whatever you're framing. Unlike most places these days, they do all the work themselves, so they can handle any project. They have a great frame selection, from simple to exotic to dramatic, in a wide range of prices. You pay by the foot with what seems like a very small markup for the actual work. I've never written a Yelp review before, but I had to share about this special place! read more

Let me start by saying, I am as picky and demanding as it gets when it comes to framing. I'm no world class art collector, but the frame often makes the painting or picture, and I have to say, these folks are the real deal. With 2 stores, one is center city Philly and the other in the suburbs of Montgomeryville, husband and wife team Mark and Alexa are the best of Philly when it comes to quality framing at a fair price. I have taken several pieces to them over the last few years, the latest recently an heirloom that I needed to be updated. Alexa was awesome, deconstructed it professionally in front of me, and walked me through what she planned to do. A week later she was finished and I couldn't be happier. And all at a very fair price. Trust your simple jobs and family treasures to them. You will be very happy with the results! read more

I have been using Frugal Frames for several years for both my business office and personal home art and prints. Alexa is fantastic. From suggesting the perfect frame and matting to the best glass, she has always exceeded my expectations with exceptional service, creativity and excellent quality. Even when I purchased a print around the holidays that needed framing, she turned it around and came through on a very tight deadline. They also framed several historical pieces for me and took great care in handling them. On one, they were able to design a frame that can show both the front and back of the document. Pricing is right in line with the quality of the work that is provided. I have been very impressed and recommend them highly. read more

Lovely and kind people who do beautiful work! The candlesticks look great! Thank you!

I cannot day enough about the beautiful job Frugal Frames did framing a print for us. Alexa was friendly and professional, and her input on mattes and wood made all the difference. She helped us stay in budget and still end up with a beautiful wedding gift for our friend. And she turned the job around very quickly, too! I love supporting small businesses and I am happy to visit this shop again for all my framing needs. read more

After having discovered Alexa at Frugal Frames years ago, my husband and I found we never wanted to go anywhere else for our framing needs... artwork or photographs! Alexa has a lovely nonintrusive manner in offering her expertise. At times when unsure of what might be best, Alexa made suggestions and encouraged taking selections home. Alexa works with your budget. We have never been disappointed. read more

I had a special picture I needed to have remounted, updated frame and new glass for a coworker who was retiring. I brought it into Frugal Frames. Alexa went above and beyond to make sure everything came out just right. She even added some suggestions and ideas on colors and styles. I thought their pricing was very reasonable as well. My coworker was very impressed with his special gift. I plan on going back to Frugal Frames again soon for Ross & Baruzzini projects and personal projects because I know I will not be disappointed. read more

Over the past few months we've taken quite a few pieces of precious art to Alexa for framing. Our experience with her abilities can only be described as. . . masterful. Her eye for detail, subtlety of color, and frame choice leaves us amazed. Her work enhances each piece, and she won't quit until she knows that each mat chosen, each frame considered is the perfect accompaniment to the piece. She immediately put us at ease and worked with us until we were beyond satisfied (and sometimes exhausted!!). We recently loaded her with about a dozen pieces and when they were finished we were truly mesmerized. And. . .here's one of the best parts. . . her prices are reasonable and fair. We will be using Frugal Frames for all of our framing needs and we'd encourage you to do the same. Don't hesitate. . .just go and be happy! read more
