I don't typically write reviews for anything but I had such a good experience here I wanted to…read moreshare it. I came in to buy my boyfriend a Christmas present. He is really into photography, but I know NOTHING about it, so I wanted face to face help, as opposed to trying to figure out what to buy on my own online. The girl who helped me, Jenny, was extremely patient and took the time to explain (in non-photographer speak) the differences in all the lenses, filers, and accessories that I was considering. I am very pleased with my purchase, and so edited for my boyfriend to open his presents. I think he is going to be so impressed with how well I did :) THEN I found out that they have a custom frame store upstairs, that is actually reasonably priced! I decided to check it out, and the woman who helped me there (was not Jenny but can't remember her name, I think she is the owner) was also extremely nice and helpful. She helped me come up with the great idea of reprinting and framing one of my parents wedding photos for them for Christmas. There are so many options for frames and matts, I thought my head was going to explode, but she helped me select the perfect design. This is another gift I am very excited about giving this Xmas! I did not even know this place existed before (it is in front of the Ft. Pierce Police Station), and I was not sure what to expect after reading the only other review, but I could not be happier with my experience. There is a large framing studio in the back and while I was there a customer came in and the owner spent time working with them. It didn't take long to know she knew what she was doing and had tears of experience. The store is filled with cards, awesome gifts and kitschy items. I was in one of my happy places. We had a old frame that was almost perfect dimensions but the back needed to be stapled close again. This business blew me away with amazing service and craftsmanship. This business is ran by husband and wife and they really do a spectacular job. I simply needed the back stapled shut but they did so much more. Jan adjusted the puzzle and taped it down. She cleaned the glass, she stapled the back shut and added a brand new backing and wire for hanging. They even provided the nails to hang it. It literally looks brand new and beautiful. I'm so grateful for their astounding service. I will be coming back here to get wedding photography framed after my wedding and for all future frame work. They have a huge variety of gorgeous frame designs and their prices are wonderful. I highly suggest their local family business over frame shops in hobby lobby or Michaels that charge a small fortune and don't know what their doing.

Sam Flax is way more than an art supply store and framing shop. They have all kinds of gift items,…read morebooks, premium name brand ink and fountain pens, home decorations and more. I had not been to Sam's since they moved across the street a few years ago. As a customer I went for some colored pencils and the staff was extremely helpful in finding items for a gift. I was walked by a staff member to several areas of the store and items to choose from were placed in my hands while the staff member explained the features and made recommendations. The level of customer service and help is something you don't commonly see in retail stores these days. The store has a tranquil vibe which makes it fun to browse the many gift items. Their stock is unique in that they carry a breadth of items that are high quality at a range of prices. You can spend a lot of time here finding inspiration and treasures. They offer art classes and during the Christmas season they offered free make and take craft classes. They had a small cardboard 'house or cottage' setup inside the store with tables stocked with all the supplies you needed for that weeks's free project. This was not just for kids. My friend and I had fun making gift tags the day we were visiting the store. The store is beautiful inside and out. The beautiful murals that cover the outside walls echo the beauty and fun you will find inside the store. Since they are popular the parking lot can get pretty full.
