I came across Kree's Yelp page because of how close she was, but what really stood out was her website--the caliber and vibrancy of her photos were incredible. I knew right away she'd be a perfect fit for capturing my niece, both in her cap and gown and in her super colorful prom dress (which I was confident Kree could do justice!). From the moment I reached out, Kree was super responsive and easy to communicate with. The contract was simple and straightforward, pricing was fair and the breakdown of her packages were awesome. and she helped us agree on a time and location that worked perfectly, not far from our house either, which was a huge plus. On the day of the shoot, Kree arrived right on time and immediately made my niece feel comfortable. Since it was my niece's first time being professionally photographed, I appreciated how Kree guided her with poses and gave her direction to bring out her best angles. She was friendly, patient, and made the whole experience fun. We received the edited photos about two weeks later, and they were amazing, better than I could have imagined. Kree truly captured my niece's personality and the significance of the moment. Highlights for me: super responsive communication, an easy-to-understand contract, a convenient location, her friendly demeanor, and of course, the beautiful final photos. Thanks so much Kree!!!

I actually found Jennifer after searching online for photographers in San Francisco and her work immediately stood out. Her style felt fresh and unconventional -- more documentary and journalistic than traditional -- and I especially loved her use of black and white photography, which was a big reason we chose her. The day started at our hotel, where she jumped between our separate rooms to capture my wife and me getting ready. Before she had even gotten to our rooms, she had already scouted the perfect location for our first look. The moment was absolutely incredible, and she handled everything; we didn't have to do a thing but follow her lead. That professional confidence continued at City Hall. She has a masterful familiarity with the building. She took full control of the shoot, guiding us as she told us exactly where to stand, how to pose, and where to move next so we could just relax and enjoy the moment. As a photographer myself, I really appreciated her confidence and professionalism. All we had to do was follow instructions and be present. She knows San Francisco City Hall inside and out -- the lighting, the angles, the timing, and the key locations that truly matter -- every shot felt deliberate and it showed. The technical skill here is top-notch-- the compositions were beautiful, the balance of each frame was spot-on, and her gorgeous color grading. We received around 300 images, and the quality is so consistent that I plan to print every last one of them in large format to ensure we have a permanent physical archive. When we received the final package, we were so touched -- she sent our photos on a beautiful USB drive along with printed images, some sweets, and other thoughtful details. It was the perfect finishing touch to a genuinely wonderful experience. If you're getting married at City Hall -- or anywhere in San Francisco -- Jennifer Michelson / A Girl and a Camera is exceptional. Thank you Jennifer! Laura and Junior.

They were professional, attentive, and so easy to have around on such an important day. What we absolutely loved was Jennifer's eye for the little moments. We can't recommend Jennifer highly enough!

April and May were eventful times for us because of Mother's Day, our 15th wedding anniversary…read more(YIKES), and our son turning 1-year old. Also, both of us got fully vaccinated from COVID-19. It was a good a time as any to book a local photographer to help capture some memories via family photos. I did rely on Yelp to do research on a few places. Many baby photographers only accept newborns. They're able to use all sorts of cute props and arrange the baby in the cutest poses. Newborns are easier to sedate and often have their eyes closed. For a 1-year old, it can get trickier since they are a lot more active and easily distracted or irritable. Other photographers also charge you based on the number of photos - say 8, 10, or 15 and then surcharges for more. I finally decided on Ricky Wong's (W Photography) since his prices were reasonable and we got to keep all the photos from a 45-minute session. He suggested we do an outdoor shoot at nearby Dublin Heritage Park and Museum. That park has lots of historical buildings and provides a rustic background for photos. We actually had to reschedule the shoot the first time since the weather all of a sudden got windy and the baby was upset - probably too late in the day and hangry. We finally managed to complete the shoot the second time, earlier in the day with better weather and a more cooperative baby. We managed to get over 50 images after 2-weeks processing. Most of the time, our son was able to look in direction of the camera, though I wish he smiled more. I recommend W Photography for your general photography needs. Although they don't necessarily specialize in baby photos, they did an excellent job with lighting and selection of poses and backdrops. Our son managed to make it through most of the shoot and got slightly irritable only at the end. Do bring your own toys and noisemakers for distractions if you plan on a family outdoor shoot with a toddler!

Our 20th anniversary session in 2023 was unforgettable--it genuinely felt like getting married all over again. Pooja planned every detail with such care and intention. The entire process, from location scouting to outfit guidance, was so thorough that the shoot itself flowed naturally and resulted in some of the most beautiful photos we've ever taken. More recently, Pooja did a senior session for my son, and she made him feel completely at ease from the moment we arrived. She has a true talent for bringing out someone's authentic personality. Even our golden doodle adores her--Pooja somehow always gets the perfect shots with pets! She has also taken my professional headshots, and I've received so many compliments from colleagues. The photos capture my personality perfectly, and several people have already asked who my photographer was. Pooja is incredibly professional, warm, and meticulous. Every bit of her planning translates directly into high-quality images and a delightful experience. She has set the bar exceptionally high and is truly my first and only choice for photos. Highly recommend!

I've done a lot of professional family photos and this is hands down the highest price per image (unedited, that would have cost more apparently) I've ever paid. $40 for one image is pretty darn high. On top of it, we were required to put $20, non refundable, down because the photographer was very worried we'd remove the watermark. Watermarking is standard, I get that. Usually its a clear colored name of the business and that's it. Lol, this image is SO watermarked we were all laughing. You can barely see what the picture is that you're buying. I'm talking every color of the rainbow ginormous letters that cover the entire photo. It's not physically possible to remove this watermark, why on earth did we need to pay a deposit for this? I'm not personally one to remove watermarks anyway, but it'd be nice to be able to see the image I'm paying for.
