Best wings I've EVER had! Garlic ranch, crispy, meaty.
    Sushiplease ..

We have lived here for over 10 years since moving back. I grew up in State College, had never even heard of this place until today....and I eat at Valley Wok next door!! this is literally the best burger I've had in all of Pennsylvania and probably the third best I've had in my life, and the wings are the best I've ever had anywhere! I had a garlic Parmesan. Nice meaty wings be sure to check out my pictures, The burger was gigantic. Next time I will get the regular size burger lol. The gal who seated and took our order was amazing, very informative. We will definitely be back. I doubt they have any trouble staying busy but if they want more business they should absolutely get a billboard and maybe put up a sandwich board sign outside the restaurant.

Paid $12 for this garbage! No offer from management to make it right, never again!

We have eaten here many times. Owner can be a jerk, but the waitresses are great and food cheap and wonderful. Love the Nev burger!!!

Given the circumstances we're living with in 2020, I honestly didn't think I would get the chance…read moreto safely travel again for a couple of years. So when a family member approached me and asked me if I wanted to stay at this inn, I was surprised; but, after learning more, I excitedly said yes. This was the right decision and led to a fantastic and relaxing weekend away from the city. This nature inn sits in Bald Eagle State Park and has 16 guest rooms, a handful of meeting room/library spaces, and is absolutely beautiful. The rooms on one side of the inn overlook a lake, with the other side facing a cluster of trees. My relative and I ended up facing the trees, but we were totally fine with that - especially since the fall foliage was starting to set in. We were on the 2nd floor, so we were able to enjoy the view from a private balcony throughout the weekend; it looked like the 1st floor rooms had little patios instead, so no matter what, guest rooms have some sort of outdoor seating. Normally, guests would all be able to enjoy a communal patio and fire pit here. Granted, some other guests (as it appeared that a large group came here together) did go ahead and enjoy this space. My relative and I did not because avoiding people is a must these days, but still, what we saw of these spaces looked great. Definitely something to remember for the future. Speaking of avoiding people - it's 2020, so naturally, my relative and I were focused on what the inn is doing to protect guests. The answer is, plenty! Cleaning and sanitizing the inn is a big thing, naturally. The small size of the inn definitely helps, as it's not particularly big and doesn't lend itself to the gathering of huge crowds. Masks are a must and for the most part, this rule was adhered to; I passed by a couple of guests that I think just forgot theirs momentarily, but staff definitely took the rule seriously. Their dining room is currently closed - all meals are prepped and offered as take-out or delivery. Fortunately, the rooms include a fridge, so it was super easy for my relative and me to bring snacks and store our leftovers so that we were stocked and well-fed all weekend. Also, while you can request items that you need for your room, daily turn-down service is not happening right now - that way, only guests are in their rooms during their stay. The result was that I felt extremely relaxed while I was in the inn, knowing that my space and health was being respected and taken seriously. A couple of notes - the mattresses here were admittedly very hard and uncomfortable, and while they didn't ruin our stay, it's still nice to have my comfy soft bed back. I don't really hold this against the inn though since, frankly, I think all hotel beds are uncomfortable by default. Speaking of things I don't hold against them - this is a nature inn, so you better expect some of the local wildlife to try to get into your room. When I first opened my balcony door some stinkbugs fell onto me because they had gathered around the door frame - whoops! The good news is that the door itself was very well sealed, so the little jerks couldn't get in when the door was closed. Again, I don't hold that against the inn at all, seeing as it's set right in a state park. Still, I think it's fair to remind other guests and readers that when you visit a nature park, you better be ready to experience everything nature throws at you. If any of this sounded like something you would enjoy, I encourage you to visit the inn's website to learn more about staying here; there is a lot of information there about a range of other topics, such as how the entire facility is designed to be ecologically sound, what to expect when you visit during different seasons, and what sorts of outdoor fun awaits you in the surrounding nature park. I definitely recommend this beautiful inn as a getaway option - now and in the future; and I hope to be back one day to enjoy more of the surrounding area!

CONS- This is why I have 1 star! *NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER AND NO WATER PRESSURE!!! The water got barely warm. I showered first and thought maybe there would at least be hot water when my husband showered, however that didn't happen. The pressure was so low we had to stand with our bodies nearly touching the shower faucet handle to even be in the water. We were colder when we got out of the shower than when we got in. After a 7 hr drive in some bad weather conditions we were looking forward to a nice hot shower, that didn't happen. We did call the front desk to report the issue we were offered a different room however it was late in the evening, we were tired & already settled into this room so we did not switch rooms. * The bed was too hard for our liking. Hampton Inn's used to all have pillow top beds. That is not the case in this hotel. *We paid almost $160.00 for the night, we expected better! A hot shower with decent water pressure would have been nice. We would NOT stay here again, due to the above issue. If you choose to stay here, check your shower before settling into your room.

I lined the seat with toilet paper to feel somewhat sanitary while using it. Thinking that I was overreacting, maybe what I saw on the seat was stains that couldn't be removed, I lightly rubbed one area of the seat and whatever it was was lifting. So, the toilet obviously wasn't cleaned between customers. The shower didn't look clean either and it also had hair in it. The bed had hair in it. There was barely any toilet paper available. I called the front desk asking for more and told her about the condition of the toilet. I will say that she ran up very quickly to deliver tp. The towels were not steal-worthy as their sign indicates. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The hotel is located off of 322. There was no sound insulation. We were kept up by truck traffic. Some positives. The shower was large and had useable shelves. Three body towels were provided, not the standard two. The person at the front desk in the morning offered some money off of our rate the next morning or additional points. As stated before, the person who brought the toilet paper up the night before sprinted to our room. The cons just outweighed the pros.

We needed space for family to visit at different times, to rest, and to work, while we also came and went. On the 2nd floor. On day #2 roofers worked for 10+ hours, after setting up their debris slide and trailer outside our window at 7 AM. There were other issues. The hotel does not have a working ice machine. They do provide the standard hotel ice bucket however. A toilet was sitting outside our window. The bathroom had cleanliness issues, as well as torn wallpaper revealing green mold on the wall. The A/C units in hotel rooms are usually noisy, this one also squeaked, and setting it to a specific hot or cold temperature wasn't possible. There was a disabled thermostat on the wall, below a hole in the wall with the detector framing that had housed an old smoke detector. If you're hoping for a pool it has been out of service for some time. This was a $190/night suite. The armchair in the bedroom area had stains on both sides of the cushion. There was a decorative basket full of balls, on the coffee table. Some of them were unraveled or broken apart. The freezer in the refrigerator was full of frost, barely useful. The 2 newer televisions were nice, there was still some protective plastic wrapping on the frame of one of them, but turning them on to watch local news, etc. wasn't possible using the channel guide many hotels provide. We think it was outdated, not sure, we used tabs and cells after a while. Bath sink drained. Toilet flushed properly, shower had adequate water pressure and temp. Laundry bag, ironing board, and hangers. (The closet door sticks.) The exterior of the building and surrounding property was in a state of construction. We had a handicapped traveler but all of the handicapped parking spaces were blocked off. The owner has a 2nd property in Reedsville. We passed it by car, no construction. It's less than 10 miles away. We could have been referred there to begin with while this property updates. We understand not wanting to lose cash flow by closing during construction, but unless guests are warned at the time of booking the hotel probably should've been closed. Referrals to the other property would've been simpler than our packing and moving again after a long drive. The staff members likely work too many jobs at once, but they still need customer relations training. There's a giant, colorful, stone duck out front. The roofer was outside taking selfies with it. He said it would look great in ads he was planning. They have an annual festival in Milroy involving ducks. An otherwise bucolic setting in the mountains. Lots of Amish horses and buggies. In the middle of nowhere so lodging is limited. We requested a refund, and received a lengthy apology email after submitting the 1st negative review.
