I've been in Florida on vacation with my parents, so of course I felt obligated to find a cupcake spot nearby. I yelped and came up with Frosting as the closest and also least reviewed. It was a rather easy place to find, close to the beach, lots of parking, tho it was a Friday afternoon. The place is BRIGHT PINK, but I like it, very cupcake festive. The staff was friendly, tho the assortment was a bit limited, hence part of the 4 stars. The types of cupcakes available looked incredible, and I wanted to to try all of them, but I limited myself to one (BOO). I tried three cupcakes (only bites of two), so here goes: Lemon-FANTASTIC. I have never had a lemon cupcake where the frosting was that lemon-ey. It was so delicious it was all I could do to not shove it all in my face. YumYumYum. I was ever so slightly disappointed that the cake didn't have a more lemon-ey flavor though. Key Lime- I almost got this one, but was a bit afraid (I love key lime anything, but I think somethings key lime + dairy can go so very very wrong). My dad, however, thought it sounded good, and I managed to snatch a bite from him. YUMMO again, very tart and flavorful with the frosting, not too sweet, light and fluffy, the cake was good, but again not really flavored . Peanut Butter Cup - My mom loves the chocolate and peanut butter combo, and this one looked super tasty, with a little peanut butter cup on top. I don't know how they do it, but honestly, they have the best frostings. The peanut butter was OUTSTANDING, full-flavored and just so...so...PEANUT BUTTER. Yet not heavy at all. I wish I knew their secret. So, to recap, the frosting = AMAZING, I think if they added a bit more of the flavoring to the cake itself, they would have outstanding cupcakes. Also, pricing is NOT bad, around $2/cupcake. Compared to the $3-4 puppies i'm used to, it was a real shock to pay $6 for all three cupcakes. There aren't any places inside to sit and eat, and since I didn't want a box, I got a napkin and cupcake only, also a part of the whole, 4/5 star thing. BUT, there are benches outside, so not a huge deal. Lots of cute stuff inside for sale as well. DEFINITELY a recommended stop on your trip to this area! read more

Love, love, love this place!! That saying "like a kid in a candy store" comes to mind with this shop. Their cupcakes are wonderful, and yes some may think they are a little pricey. I feel you definitely get what you pay for, regardless of which baked good you are there for. The detail that is put not only into their cupcakes, but their cakes as well is awesome. They have always had great suggestions with flavor combinations when I've ordered their birthday cakes. Last year, husband and I ordered our wedding cake with them and I got the best cake ever. 3 layers, chocolate banana; Vanilla; Red Valve! Everyone gave high review of it. This year I came back to order cupcakes with each flavor of my wedding cake and no disappointment at all. Taste the same as my wedding cake, bring back all our sweet memories and my husband surprises me with a small Chocolate Truffles Cake for my birthday!! It looks so cute and will taste it soon. You can make all kinds of cake here, just bear in mind that they may not answer your phone right away or need to call back again and again! My dream has come true. I have made it to Frosting. Now keep in mind this is the same Frosting people who made the cake for Gloria Estefan's son. So, we knew we were in for a treat. Here is the menu of the week. The menu changes day by day. They vary up the flavors. Great selection. So I started of with the basics. Red Velvet, Vanilla, Garbage Can, Milk Chocolate Truffle, Strawberry Cream, Oreo. Denise, the woman helping us was super kind and allowed me to go behind the register and take the pics. You rock Denise!! Since they looked so good wifey placed an order for tomorrow. We got an assorted dozen to bring home and eat. Ok, maybe share some with the family. The store is very nice. Inside its like a Carnival of sweets and goodies. They sell candies. Drinks, lunch boxes, etc. stuff you would never imagine in a store like this. The way they have the cupcakes on the glass shelf was interesting. I would have preferred eye level or higher. I had to kneel down to see what flavor I wanted. Plus they weren't in one area. They were spread out which was interesting. Unfortunately, we ended on a sort of unhappy ending. While driving back to our hotel I press the brakes really hard and all the cupcakes fell out of the box from the back seat of the car. Yikes. Needless to say we have some cupcakes that have some dirt and hair in them. Maybe it will be on the menu for next time. : ) read more

My sweet tooth is out of this world. You can imagine my excitement when we stumbled across Frosting! We stopped in to check out the store and grab a cupcake or two. Upon entering I was immediately excited by the charming and sweet decorations. We perused the cases of cupcakes trying to decide what we would pick out. There were two young guys working behind the counter, but neither of them even acknowledged us, nor did the acknowledge the fact that we were audibly trying to guess what flavors were showcased. They really seemed like they could care less about working or interacting with customers. We finally picked out what we assumed was a carrot cake cupcake, bought it and left. It was a carrot cake cupcake and it was DELICIOUS! I was really just soured on the entire customer service experience and would probably not return on my next trip to Vero. However, if someone was looking for yummy cupcakes for an event in the area, I would have no problem recommending frosting. The cupcake was pretty delicious. read more

This place is one of the main reasons I love local, awesome, small businesses. It's Sunday, and I called to see if they were open. When the girl answered, she let me know that they weren't; and she was there preparing for an event. Before I could say thanks, and hang up, she asked me what I was looking for. I told her just some cupcakes or a small cake for my dad's birthday dinner, later on today. She asked me to wait while she checked. She then told me she could do some cupcakes as long as I could get there pretty soon since they were about to leave. Seriously, such great service. Visiting from Orlando and my family drives out of the way to take me here. Sign and website state this establishment opens at 12:00 on Saturdays. We sat there until 12:30 and store still didn't open. People kept pulling up and leaving, lost several customers. I finally get a number to call and someone tells me oh, we do deliveries on saturdays so sometimes we open late.. go hang out at the beach for 45 minutes and we should be back by then. Really??? Go hang out at the beach for 45 min?? My sister is in a wheel chair and we already drove 45 minutes to get there!!! How about open on time??? How about customer service??? Or hire a delivery person?? Love this place. They made my wedding cake, and it was not only incredible to look at, but also extremely delicious. Of course I got them to make my 40th birthday cake. I wanted a coconut cake, and to say that Ashlee delivered is an understatement. Cake soaked in coconut cream, frosted with coconut buttercream (not slippery gross buttercream, that you get at some lesser establishments). Coated in coconut shreds..it was a masterpiece. I think I need to run about 50 miles to burn off all that cake but it was well worth it!!!!! The prices are fine. Not sure why other people are complaining about them. I live in Toronto and up here we pay upwards of $4.50 for a cupcake. Get over it. They also just got gelato, and it is smooth a divine. The staff is super nice, too.... On vacation and saw this sweet shop on the way to Mulligan's and thought it would be a perfect stop to satisfy a sweet tooth. From the outside the place looks super cute and the inside cute but a little cluttered. The only reason I am giving this shop two stars is because when my group walked in no one was inside to great us, there were very few cupcakes in the showcase, and after waiting ten minutes for someone to come out after saying hello a couple of times we decided to leave. Not to mention a woman inside the kitchen looked out of the window twice and did not even acknowledge us. It would be a different story if the woman at least waved or said she'd be out in one moment but we got nothing. The night before at 7 PM the person that was SUPPOSE to make the cake, did not.
